Aftermarket Hood Installation

Greetings,

Earlier this week, my wife surprise me with the aftermarket CF hood that I've been eyeing . Looking at it, the only predrilled holes I see is for the hood struts, latches, and the thing you pull up to open the hood. My question is, is there's a way to carry over all of the rubber stoppers to the new hood or they arent required? The hood is the GTR style for e92's.

Never mind, sometimes you just have to dive in.

Looks great. I have the exact same thing and it definitely looks better in person than in pictures. Have fun!

Going to paint it, but there are too many ways I want to do it. Until I make up my mind, I'm rocking it raw.

MBs. Just about all aftermood hoods (from reputable places) have good fitment. You just have to adjust it to get it right. It was terrible when I first put it on. After a few adjustments, i started to smile. Most people just throw the hood on and complain instead of adjusting it.

Black headlights, carbon fiber hood, tint across the top of the windshield.

You my friend are ready for the fast and furious. Lol

Joking aside the hood isn't my cup of tea but once you paint it then it will look alot better.

Good wife btw. Enjoy

You forgot to mention the stickers .
Couldn't resist. Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of carbon fiber, but it doesn't look too bad on silver thank goodness. Once I figure out how I want this painted, it'll be headed to the paint shop.
Yep, my wife is pretty amazing.

I read about that some where. I wonder is there's a way to lower the dampening? Where did you get your hood shocks from?

There isn't and I got mine from another member, but they can be had for $50ish at Tischer and Pelican Parts. Super easy to install.

I'd recommend picking up a set of M3 hood shocks to help prevent your hod from bowing due to the strength of your OE shocks.

Can you tell me how to adjust, I have about a 1/2 inch gap in the front and can't figure out how to lower it - any help and pics you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

To adjust the height up front, try tightening down the latches. They look like tow hooks without the cover on cover on. I tighten mine down to where there were like three threads showing and it corrected my gap. I'll post some pictures later.
