I’ve recently encountered a issue with my 2007 E92 328i with the 6HP 21 gearbox. I’ve been hearing a bizarre popping sound (see attached video) that is originating from the center console. You can only hear this sound from the interior which is very bizarre. It makes the sound regardless of whether it is in park or drive which potentially rules out drive shaft/diff related issues. If anyone has any idea on what could be the source of this please let me know.
