Worth it to Mod/Tune 85k 2007 335i?

Just wondering peoples opinions about modifying a 335i with approximately 85k in miles. The optioning being whether it is worth it or not. The mods I'm considering are:

* Quaife LSD
* Intercooler
* Cobb AccessPort
* Air-Intake

Our in-house 335i has about 85,000 miles now and it still running as strong as ever! It recently needed new injectors, but has been problem free outside of normal maintenance. Not to mention, about 10,000 of those miles have probably been on the dyno! This car has been running GIAC stage 1 software with an upgraded intercooler and intake, as well as water-methanol injection.

If it's a healthy, maintained N54 it's worth modding! Get that COBB tune on their & start the road to FBO

Plenty worth it.

Just make sure all your hardware is up to date:

Latest Fuel pump and injectors properly coded.

Fresh spark plugs Every 20-30K Miles

Intake valve cleaning Every 40-50K Miles

For starters...

I'm not positive, but it may be a crime not to tune a N54.

By all means, mod the living crap out of it, you have zero warranty issues to worry about, haha.

I agree you should be fine as long as the car is well maintained.

What makes me laugh is if you renamed the title, Worth buying 07 335i with 85k most people would reply whining about the potential reliability issues and potential costs but lets face it these cars are pretty solid engine/drivetrain-wise.

Enjoy!

At 85k, the only thing I'd really be worried about is the suspension, intake valves & fluids. It sounds like the car is in good shape.

It should have been tuned 85K miles ago, never to late to tune it.

Totally worth it...I have 93,000 with mods listed below. I am in the process of getting a new motor as a back up but won't need for quite some time...I just want it. My buddy has 128,000 miss on his 2007 and it runs right with me....very solid platform!

Like everyone else said, go for it. I'd also recommend getting a walnut blast done to your valves, change plugs, and even clean your vanos solenoids before tuning. After that, let it rip.

Agreed, I'm at 86k with an '07 and just had my valves cleaned for the first time at 83k, and they were hideous. You might check suspension too as mentioned above; I know some of my bushings are on their last leg at this point in the car's life.
