pre-LCI to LCI Conversion question

Folks, my body shop is changing hood & bumper and suggested to do LCI instead (2008 e90 sedan) ... question is, would I need new headlights or the pre-LCI ones will fit ? I found conflicting info searching the forum

What's the point of making a LCI conversion if you leave the pre-LCI headlights and taillights? It'll still look pre-LCI

exactly. better off with a bumper upgrade vs. updating to a newer stock bumper...

For the rear, yes, being as the tail lights are what differentiate the LCI from the pre-LCI. But for the front of the car, at lease is the case for me, the hood and front bumper is what differentiate an LCI from pre-LCI (again, at lease to me).

I agree that the bumpers make a big difference but the headlight housings are what differentiate pre-lci from LCI for me. Same with the rear tails. If I see pre-lci headlights and/or taillights with LCI bumpers then I immediately know they did a conversion. Well at least half of a conversion

I've done the LCI hood, bumper, grill update and will update the headlights at a later date but yes, they fit just fine.

On an e90, is the rear bumper any different from pre-lci to lci?

Nope. The stock grills wont fit the LCI hood and the LCI grills wont fit the preLCI bumper. You can modify the grills but I'm not sure how many people have done that. You can get a hood from rockauto for like $300 and a LCI bumper from ebay again for around $300.

meh. i only like LCI tail lights and LCI hood. not a fan of the front bumper or headlights but i cant justify paying 800 for lci tail lights and i guess ill just invest in a m3 rep hood and tint the tail lights
