walnut shell blasting problem

attempted DIY gone array, need input. Decided to do a walnut blasting looked easy but the problem; between my bad eye sight and the amount of gunk on the valves; one valve was partially open and I loaded the cylinder with shells. I really couldn't see if it was closed after 75k miles the valves had so much build up. Tried to bump the starter to get to the next valve ,nothing moved , pulled the plug and blasted air through the valve and sure enough walnut shells everywhere attempted to vacuum out from both side lots of air but still can't bump the starter to move them . Any thoughts or help would be appreciated Anyway plugged the plug and

You are going to have to pull the head. Thats really the only way to make sure you get all out.

They are walnut shells, they should burn off I would imagine. You need to get the cylinder evacuated though. Not sure the best way to do that. I think if you pull the plug and shoot compressed air in through there while keeping the vacuum on the port it should clear the chamber out.

Use the vacuum adapter to step down to a clear flexible hose with the outside diameter the size of the spark plug threads . Use duct tape to step directly down to the smallest hose or a copper step down for the large clear hose to a smaller clear hose portion . You will be able to see when there are no more shells .

You mean the car won't turn over when pressing the start button or when using a trigger gun connected to the starter ? What about rocking the car back and forth or using a socket wrench on the crank pulley? I can't imagine that a walnut shell is keeping the valve open . Only because when hardened carbon deposits fall off and get crushed by the valves, does it ever stall the car. Also check the battery if you left the doors open the whole time. Best of luck, I'm interested in finding out what it could be.

Time for a boroscope, looks like. Plug hole - you'll need a slimline - inexpensive unit should do the job.

So. What do you see in there?

ok partial success ;perhaps the trickle charger wasn't on long enough left in over night and the valves are moving also re vacuumed everything and got a piece of gunk the size of gravel out, perhaps the gunk was jammed in there combined with low battery wouldn't turn. Certainly not out the woods until the car is running . Can't believe with all their engine specialists (engineers no less... LOL) we have an intake that can get that clogged up after 75k miles. They know better I took the intake off my 524td years ago and it had about 5 lbs of oily gunk that had built up over the years. Sure hope they have their diesel engines sorted out, otherwise it is off my list for my next vehicle.

Take any direct injection engine off your list.
No BMW, MINI, Kia, VW, etc....
