Ah Dynojet, I'll be sure to do some runs on a Dynojet to get the "high hopes" numbers, But I like the lower reading dynos, tend to think its more realistic in terms of everyday power.

Yes I have, I dyno'd it on Friday of last week before Bimmerfest, in its current state it put down 249.7 at the rear tire on a Clayton dyno, while not being totally finished.

Ill post the finalized dyno's when I get it ready, I don't want to confuse people with different charts before the real thing is done

Hey Gavin,

Are you going to dyno an SC+Headers setup only?

Because I'm interested in getting the headers alone and wanna know what the performance gains are from them (and only them).

Quick question Gavin, why we shifting at 5K?
Why don't we take both cars from a stand and do 0-60 all the way to redline with both cars?
Judging by the videos, I can't really tell if one car has a better jump or faster than the other.

I think from what he said and my guess, but the tuning is not finished and the car probably doesn't run properly above 5K revs. Not entirely sure so don't take as truth without confirmation from Gavin.

From my understanding it is still in it's "break-in" period.

Yes we are going to have a lot of dynos for headers only, supercharer, super + headers - just wrapping it all up now

Possibly, but I couldn't say if it will work for sure without testing it out on one. We dont have any Euro cars out here so that will take some planning to get it tested in the Euro market.

Because at the moment the car gets a little lean over the 6k mark, so I cant redline it like I would want. That is being solved with the final tuning we are doing, so following the touch up tuning I will be able to beat on it for you guys.

Pretty much, over 6k it leans out a little and I dont want to stress it. So I shifted at 5k to keep it happy and still made excellent power

This too, you want to give your blower some time to get used the the setup and for all the gears to wear in as well, but with the mileage I already have on it - we are OK in this aspect now.

Good day. I no longer own my 2006 E90 325i Sedan. I longed for this option. I now own a different car. But I am ever so pleased to see this progress. Had this option been available, I would not have sold my car when I did.

My mods:

Rieger A-body front
M-tech rear
19' CSL reps
Custom sound system
RD-Sport Exhaust
Secondary cat delete
White angel rings
Dinan Ram-Air Intake
N52B30 3-stage intake manifold swap with stage I 330i mappings from EVOTECH

My question would be:

Since I had the 330i manifold, would you have been able to have this kit work with it? And I'm curious to know what the gains would be (at the rear wheels of course)?

Again, well done. It's quite an achievement and I'm very happy for all that can have this option on the N52 motor.

Just FYI Gavin, the '07 335xi in our garage that is completely stock put 280awhp down on a Superflow 880 (corrected for elevation). I'd agree 100% that BMW underrated the 335. However, 300whp+/- for this kit on a virtually stock 328 is quite an accomplishment.

Anyone that's done any research will know that swapping out the engine in our cars is NOT cost effective at all for the gains (assuming of course you are keeping the engines in the BMW family). The only options you have if you are going for big power numbers are A) Gavin's Kit or B) Selling your car and upgrading.

Unless of course you spent under $25k for a fully loaded E83 X3 that only came with an N52 and buying a similarly equipped F25 X3 with an N55 is about $60k. I apologize for the non-e9x substance.

I really wish we had a DIY software option for tuning like HP Tuners & LS1 Edit that the domestic guys have.

I don't know if you've explored it, but the other day I saw that Cobb has a nice DIY tuning software suite for the 335. My suspicion is that it is compatible with the 328, just minus some adjustments for turbo-specific items. It's like $3k, which is a bit too rich for my blood, but it does mean unlimited adjustment to your own tune, by anyone who you see fit to make those changes, and at your convenience.

I also doubt it would work with this SC kit, since it sounds like there is a non-factory pass-through ECU-module that stands between the actual ECU and I guess the engine outputs? With this kit you'd need a reading program compatible with that (probably. you might be able to tune some car-based ECU variables and have them interact with the SC kit's box downstream, but that gets complicated and I wouldn't recommend it, since you'd likely find it to be more problematic than it's worth. But I don't know.).

I understand these are BMWs, but $3,000 is a bit much for tunning one car. Maybe if I was active in racing and was building a purpose built car I could see spending $3,000 on tunning software. However I am interested in whether or not this would work for our application.

It's not designed for the weekend warrior DIY enthusiast (hence the price). I'm pretty sure it's designed for a Turner Motorsport or Active Autowerke shop to develop tunes for shop racing, or maybe commercial sale. Still, it's a cool thing, but unfortunately the only place I've seen DIY custom tuning for sale.

What I mean by DIY is having the capabilities to buy it off the shelf and go to town without having to use a shop. I didn't mean like a JB4, Cobb, etc... LS1 Edit and HP Tuners allow full access to the PCM/ECM.
