Looks great so far but i wouldn't do it on my own car even though the insurance will pay for it. it's just not right imo +1 on the resale value of the car it's like you downgrade.

Ignore all those haters. From what I see, it's just a cool project to do to one's car, and I can appreciate the work you're putting into it. Let us know how it turns out!

who cares honestly, bmw's a sharp looking cars, the m3 looks a lot like any other 3 serries from a far. i mean everyone on the forum is here because we love our cars, why shatter someone elses enthusiasm for doing somthing different to their car, given the oppertunity too. It isnt a true M3 and its not a true thoroughbred but really hope everyone has figured that out by now. Its a cool project keep on sending in the pictures.
at least its not another pontiac fiero being turned into a lambo or ferrari. now that is just morally wrong in the car world. |

the people who are hating are jealous. Personally, since money is no object b/c insurance is paying I'd do the same, but I'd never use my own money to finance a conversion. Looks great though!!

what is this guy going to tell people that say, "hey nice M3"....does he say, thanks, or does he explain to them that he cant afford a real M3 so he made his car look like one instead. |

Agreed. Personally I'd prefer a chipped 335 anyday over an M3. I'd really prefer a chipped 335 diesel over anything if it were available in the E92. Only thing I like more about the M3 is the front end. Hood, bumper and fenders. But that's just my opinion. Can't wait to see the finished product.

How do you know he can't afford one? Perhaps he can just has higher priorities? I can afford an M3 but I prefer spending more money renovating my home and I've been investing heavily in different funds in the market right now considering I'll probably never see it this bad again for the rest of my life. Taking advantage of a weak market, dollar cost averaging could potentially mean huge returns down the road. Perhaps lifestyle changing results. The $780 a month that gets taken out my account each month could have easily gotten me an M3. Some things are just more important to certain people.

I assume you're referring to the "poser" as the guy who just bought a real M3? Because I believe the poser is the guy who made a 3 series look like an M3. Just a quick observation.
