Austrian parking ticket during ED - how to pay?
Hey guys!
I got a parking ticket while in Austria on ED last year. I would've paid it, but couldn't figure out how - some sort of wire transfer that I'm not familiar with! It just showed up in my mail again, and it's now double in amount. I'd like to pay it (it's not that much money), but I'm worried about figuring out how to transfer the money and make sure that they know what the money is for. I think I can figure out how to send the money, but I'm not sure how to make sure that they know who sent it, and that they apply it towards my ticket. I have the following numbers/info: -Bankverbindung -BLZ -BIC -Kontonummer -IBAN -Kennzahl Can anyone help me decipher this? Alternately, does anyone know what happens if I don't end up paying? |

Heh I have one from the NL... don't think I paid it, and it's been over a year... haven't heard anything after that. Interpol is probably going to come arrest me!

Well, the reason I do care is that I am a european citizen, and I wouldn't want some ten year old unpaid violation to come bite me when I move back and start looking for a job for instance...

See if your bank can do anything about it. When i was stationed in Germany, (Air Force) if i recieved a ticket i just took the ticket to the bank and they just transferred to the amount to the appropriate authority.

I have heard firsthand stories of countries sending bills/fines to foreign citizens for unpaid tickets. They will hold you liable for fees to track you down and ship the bill/ticket to you. Which could make it difficult to enter the country next time you want to travel there.

All you need is the IBAN number for wire transfer which you already have. Just take it to your bank and tell them you need to do an international wire. In the comments section put your ticket reference.
If you are with Chase you can do it online yourself. |
