320d (05) no issues
130i (56) no issues
335d (56) no issues
520d (08) no issues
320d (09) loose earth wire - one off, sorted easily.

E92 335d M Sport 18mths ownership, 21500 mls - never missed a beat - cracked a few wheels tho Lol

Great car. My wifes. Went like the clappers. Room in the back limited (not an issue for us as "DINKIES"), but great fun if you dont mind the marmite looks.

£32k new, with 20k/18months on the clock we paid 15k, and sold for about the same after 9 months or so.

I think your mate is wrong about the electric's however different models do have their problems, HPFP problems in petrol cars (not all), alloy wheel problems (cracks and warped), roof leaks (e93s) and problems with 335d speedos (Clearly some owners think their cars are faster than they really are ).
