I suppose this is probably somewhere on the forums, but formulating the correct words in order to be able to find it is beyond me :-(

Can someone identify what this is on my 07 335i. I have had the car since it came out and for some reason haven't been able to figure out what this is in the trunk and what its use is for.

Ok. Ok.. Have you ever had an E46? Well there was a spare tire in the trunk, thus you had to lift the cover which had a strap with hook that clipped on the weather stripping.

Well sorta the same thing, you have a cover over the storage space in the trunk, thus you bend the clip over the lid of the cover to hold it up.

It's funny cause I always thought that's what it was, and never tried it till your post.

I think it's used to hold up the super secret compartment flap in your drunk.

haha, I found it about month ago myself im like what is this....then week later I open the top secret trunk and it snapped in place im like wow thats handy lol.

Lol I come close to almost breaking that lid holder every time I put something large in the trunk.
