I might be going crazy, but I think my car was chipped....

Ok, so my car was at the dealership all last week b/c of the squeaky brakes and a metal screeching noise. So I get the car back over the weekend. Didnt really drive it much, and today was the first time that I could. So Im in 2nd gear, I floored it and when I shifted to 3rd I chirped! I never ever remember chirping into 3rd gear. My car doesnt have any performance mods. Also, I never remember my car pulling so hard, especially in 3rd gear! All last week I was driving my dads Porsche and that thing made my car feel pretty slow, but now, my car feels incredibly fast. How can I find out if my car was chipped accidentally or something, besides dyno? Again, IDK if Im going crazy, but Im telling you guys, it feels faster, lol.

Oh and BTW, Im not on drugs lol

Yea, I don't think they gave you a free Dinan flash so it must be just you

Chirping of tires does not indicate more power. I doubt that they would accidentally flash your car at the dealer. But I had the same feeling about my car. I had to drive my girlfriends Toyota Corrola for a few days when my car was in the shop. After I got my car back I felt like I owned the road. However, shortly after that I got used to it again.

Ok, but I had a Porsche all last week, and those things arent slow. Also, I never chirped 2nd to 3rd before, so that could mean something. Last thing, my car pulls much harder in 3rd gear now. Before, the time it took me to reach 80ish in 3rd, I can reach 95ish-100. So IDK, I might go do some pulls over the weekend, because I really think my car is faster now.

Dealer disconected the battery. The car is going to feel faster until it adapts to your driving style.

I'm going to say it's in your head. How you work the clutch and gas when shifting has more to do with chirping tires than power.

As far as reaching higher speeds in a given time unless it's clocked at a dragstrip you probably aren't accurate.

What octane do you normally run? Maybe they reset the ECU and filled it up with premium. Of course if you run 93 there shouldn't be much of a difference.

I cant see how they would just give you a free $2000+ tune and not have you sign anything for it or catch it themselves. In any case, Enjoy your car!

Well, so far, from my experience, they arent too organized. They couldnt find my car when I went to pick it up... And, the car got towed in on Tuesday and they didnt know anything about it until Friday.

Not a stock 335 though. My dad has a C4S with the Porsche power up-grade and the light weight ceramic brakes.

The gearbox in Porsches is nice. It is similar to the RS4 and S4.

Are you sure your calipers weren't sticking? How did you go through pads so quickly? If the brakes were being constantly applied and they fixed the problem you will, for the first time, feel what the car is like without the brakes on. An MT 335 should have no problem chirping 3rd.

+1 3rd is no problem in these cars. To the OP, u sure they gave you your car back and not an M3? That happened to me once, I brought my car in for service and they gave me the owners Veyron completely by mistake......maybe it was all in my head though

Lol, I agree that the tranny in Porsches is awesome, but its not similar to an S4 at least. I know that b/c my previous car was a B6 S4, and although it was a pretty nice tranny, its not similar to the Porsche's.

IDK what the problem is/was. The screeching is gone, but the squeaking is still there. The SA told me that nothing was wrong with the brakes, so w/e, I guess ill keep bothering them about it.
