2009 335i M-Sport?
Gents,
There is a 2009 335i M-Sport that has become available...I have been itching to get my butt in one of these for some time now. Anywho, I've test drove several in the last few weeks, and I have decided to get a manual as the automatics did not impress me too much...some where acting up, as if they were slipping, even in the 2011 models. This 2009 335i M-Sport (Le Mans Blue w/ Saddle Brown Leather) has 56,865 miles on it! Listed at $29,900 and is pretty much loaded. What are your thoughts on a BMW with this amount of miles on it? Thanks for your input. |

definitely high mileage. is it CPO'd? If not, the mileage + warranty expiration alone is a deal breaker, which is reaffirmed by the high asking price.
I'm assuming it looks something like this (but with m/t): http://www.garnettmotorcars.com/web/...Texas/2793269/

I am not sure if it is CPO'd, do you think it would be worth the car if I could get an extended warranty?

Yeah, I wouldn't take the plunge if it is out of warranty. Call up your local BMW dealer and give them the VIN. They will check for you.If the CPO is included in that price, it may be ok if you could haggle them down by $1k.
Keep in mind that once the mileage crosses 80k, usually these cars take a huge hit in depreciation. For an 09, I'd look for a car with mileage in the low 30k's. Good luck!

I love that color combo...
But if it's not CPO with that mileage, I wouldn't consider it unless it was in the $26-27 k range. Check tire and brake life too and use that as a negotiation point if you are still interested in the car. Ask for service history and search about N54 water pumps and fuel systems on the board. I recently picked up a 2009 335ix 6mt premium, sport (yes, I know it's just seats and a steering wheel on xi), logic 7, CA, CPO, 4 new tires, 38k mi for $29.5k. Slightly higher mileage than I wanted, but I really wanted a manual. It's silver out/black in...I wish I could trade colors with this car. Good luck! Be patient though! |

So I have found another, however I am still in the hunt for the M-Sport combo. Would it be possible to convert this to an M-Sport and how much would it take...would it be possible to be even better than a M-Sport?

a convert would set you back $2k+ just for the body kit (unpainted and no labor - see Tischer attached image below)... plus wheels and any other trimmings (door sills, thicker steering wheel etc). If it's M-Sport you're looking for, get M-Sport.
Came across this thread: check with the guy and see if he can source one for you. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=620060

You should wait around for the MSport. They are rare but available. It is not worth the money to convert when the purchase price for used is close to non MSport. I had found a 2010 M Sport Coupe (but auto) loaded for 35k at BMW dealership and it only had 17k miles. Keep searching but if you settle, you might regret it.

I believe it is mostly cosmetic. Front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper on the outside. I don't remember what is different on the inside aside from the steering wheel.
