go to a muffler shop and have them sawsall your muffler off, and have them weld on a straight pipe, its a good sound and not to loud and it will cost you about 30 bucks

If you're looking for "cheap" a muffler delete is probably your best bet. If you're looking into gains, active Autowerke's N52 sig exhaust dyno'd at 5HP/5TQ. (Caution: drone) That'll cost 600+shipping+install (install should be no more than $50). At this point majority of the forum would argue that if you're gonna do about $700 for an axel back go with the PE exhaust which is a full system. Price range I've seen it at has been 900-1000 on average. Should be cheaper now that new body styles are rolling in. I'm not so sure about performance gains. + shipping and installation. I personally love my active autowerke axel back despite the drone. I've read a lot of people on here love their BMW PE's. I would recommend looking at videos although those aren't the most accurate and go from there.
