I think we are all guilty of that in some way, shape, or form.

People like him serve as a reminder to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and stop inventing excuses.

Ive seen/heard of crazy stories such as this, with semi paralyzed ex-racers getting back on the saddle (with the aid of custom controls) after years of sitting on the sidelines, but this man takes the trophy.
