you can do it with any of the iPods as well. doesnt need to be the iphone

my only concern is that I have a case on my iphone, it's pretty thin, but it doesnt look like it would fit in that dock. any thoughts?

I have the incase case with the bottom that slides off so you can put it in a dock. Someone else has done the install after me and sanded the white holder dow to fit his iphone WITH a case.

this is sweet!!! hmm wonder if they would come out with something like this that will also allow you to play videos on our idrive screen via iphone/ipod :P

I have an 06 E90 330xi with the Aux input and cig lighter in the arm rest just like what's shown in the DIY on prior page. I want my iPhone 4 to charge when I put it on the dock... Do I need to also order the charge convertor? I was following the explanation of this item when I went to the Spec Dock site. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me by answering this.

Great post. Does Spec Dock allow you to change song from the steering wheel? Will this work for 2008 535i too?

Just installed mine in my '06 330xi and it works great. It does charge the iPhone/iPod and you can adjust volume but cannot use the steering wheel to advance songs. Not a biggie thou as it is within easy reach.

wish they had this for the iPhone 5... Good job on the install. I need to bury the lightning to 30 pin adapter and the USB/audio Y cable. Now it is a mess in the armrest compartment.
