Hmm actualy its the sort of thing I'd probably get my old man too. Tastefully understated.
Couple a years ago I bought him a nice Maurice Lacroix chronograph but he hardly wears it except on very sepcial occasions, preferring otherwise to wear his SS Daytona. Funny thing is both watches sport a Valjoux 7750 movement but he says the ML is "too shouty" for every day...

Seamaster is the sort of watch for the person who goes into a mercedes benz dealership and buys an A-class.
But its perfect for the corporate world, not shouty at all.

When we both get our Rolex's it'll be like going to Bentley and purchasing two GT Coupe's.

BTW Pcock, can't wait.

You guys buy Rolex but too cheap to buy newspaper. Or even sneak a peek at an FR somewhere like a newsagent.

considering my old man is a tradie and actually uses his hands, his previous watch was an Omega, he appreciates understated and well built things and hes not a wanky try hard watch aficionado, it suits him fine

as for lolex, couldnt think of anything more ostentatious or passe TBH.

Maybe in 2005 if you were at a salesman convention then sure... i guess.

currently rocking this, my old mans 1970 as yet unidentified hand wound Omega

I was in the market for an IWC of some variety but found this in dads draw and I honestly havnt seen a watch in any store of this style, that looks this good.

also i had submariners quoted at equal and cheaper than the aqua terra, but we bought my douche bag brother in law one so its forever tainted the brand for me, but i guess if you want that whole real estate agent look then its the perfect watch.

Does the face of the watch have rust?
My omega has tiny dots on the face hinting to rust on the inside

Nice watch orey/korey/mlorey. Looks fantastic with the leather band. My old omega has a shitty $20 plasticky metal band which I'm not keen on but I couldn't decide what to change it to. I was never too keen on a leather band but after seeing your picture I've definitely changed my mind. It look very classy indeed and I reckon the lack of labelling makes it even more elegant. Do you like the hand wound movement and how often have you had it serviced?

Nice watch Orey. You might need to have a vintage watch professional look at the dial and clean it though before it goes bad. If you need, I know a recommended guy in the US famous on the forums. He does mostly vintage Rolex servicing but could also look at other makes I guess, is a bit more expensive but well worth it for a family heirloom that you will possibly pass on.

it originaly had a very similar band to the one yours has on, maybe the same even... probably a style thing from the 70's.

i managed to get this band, official omega (has a little omega on the clasp) for 60 dollars from a jeweller in hawaii that was having a clearance sale (ebay)

was quoted 400 at swiss watches (this after purchasing a chanel watch for my sister a few weeks earlier (so much for customer loyalty)

i also wasnt a big fan of leather watch bands but now i feel like wearing anything else with a suit is just wrong.

one thing ill never understand are rubber bands... unless you are in the middle of a game of tennis, then there is no excuse, especially the ones with the big orange strap or those bvgari ones... massively offensive.

as for hand winding every day, you get used to it and its a good way of letting peopel know you arnt interested in what they are saying indirectly, especially in meetings.

this is what i want next... but at 200k i might have to wait a while

HAH! I never liked Frank Muller watches, the design doesn't do it for me. My father and the owner Vartan (Armenian man) are very good friends as there is a slight family connection from his uncle. He offered us half on any watch whenever we wanted one...dad couldn't say he was a Rolex man nor could mum say she was a Chopard lady. The one thing that impressed me was the factory that was underground, phoa! He has three Villa's on top and the whole factory under them, very smart man to get to international level. He started off by doing repair works for Cartier watches...

A bit of knowledge for you Orrie.
