I had 2 19' alloy bmw rims (with run flats already on the rim) brought in for curb rash. Nothing major but it seems pricey. They told me $150 a rim. Their excuse was $30 dollars a rim to take the tire off :S. They told me to call Saturday before i pick them up to make sure they are finished. In all honesty i doubt they will be finished by the way he was talking. Monday will be 13 days which seems to long of a time for such little work.

They told you it was going to be 1.5 weeks to 2 weeks ahead of time (as you stated). So you cant complain there! and if u dont like the price, then why drop it off in the first place :S :P

Plus they're always busy, hence the wait.

Good guys btw!

even though they told me 1.5 to 2 weeks doesnt mean that its not a long time. I dropped them off there because i heard good things about them. They are $1000 each rims . I would have to pay more to when i brought back the car after my lease.

I agree its a long time. Only cause its the tire/rim season for all the Automotive shops (spring / winter), so everyone is busy. But for the rim shops, come winter time, they're dead, got my entire set done in 3-4 days!

Ya i was dumb. I waited 2 weeks to long. I called them 2 weeks prior and they said 4 days they could do it. I waited like a dummy now its 2 weeks and 30 dollars each more lol.

$150/wheel with Tire On for quality work on quality Wheel is a very good price... considering they take the tire off, put it back on and re-balance after the repair work is completed. 1.5-2 week wait is standard during pick season.

Not sure if you called around, but I wouldn't be surprised other places probably quoted you $180-$250 for the same type of work with similar turn around time during this time period.

So stop whinning about it.... If they do a shitty job then it's a different story

BTW if you pay by cash they can help with HST.

I got my rims back today. They did a very good job. The rims look brand new. It took them exactly 2 weeks. And it cost me $150 a rim. The reason it was so expensive was because i had run flat tires on the rims. Altogether it cost $339 for 2 rims. I would recommend them especially out of peak season.

union

this is from a little review i wrote up from union rim repair there work is excellent

Not sure if this is the right place but here it goes,

I had a set of rims i purchased from that was curbed and one rim had a crack. I was looking for the best repair at the best cost. I called around 6-8 different shops all of the told me itll take too much time and they must be refnisihed in order to perform the repair. It seemed like the shops were really trying to make as much as they can but what do you expect after all they are businesses. The only option i got form these shops were to get the whole lip refinished. The average quote was about $250 a rim, My clear coat would have to be removed then sanded down and then material added if necessary then polished up. At that price I would be paying more then the rims themselves.

I Found union rim repair the guy was extremely friendly and very reasonable. He explained that he can redo my whole lip in a different finish at a significantly cheaper price. He offered me advice on how i could refinish the rims myself after he added material. And thats the route i took with his advice and some hardwork my rims look like brand new. i saved over $500! with his advice and help. His equipment is top notch. he also mounted and balanced my tires on a touchless rim machine so no scratches o r ne thing like that, and they are perfect even without road force. I highly recommend this shop.

for those that fixed bad curb/rashes on the side. Do the repaired rim color match the original rim? Also anyone know if they paint or powder coat the finish? thanks
