Thinking of buying this car

Hey All;

My buddy is importing this car from Boston to New Brunswick (Canada) and I was wondering if anybody has any input on the listed price with the car's options. Is this a good price in your opinion? He would sell it to me for a few thousand less (he still needs to pay all the import fees etc...). The manufacturer's warranty will be valid in canada as well.

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?paId=253546066

Oh and if someone has an unlimited carfax account, I would appreciate it if a report could be run on this one.

Thanks Guys.

WAY too high by 6 grands! Also you need to spend close to 3000$ to bring here, including 6.1% import taxes, 2000$ for BMW for stupid letters and instruments cluster swap, transport, hassles... plus other taxes.

Wow.. That's wicked high. Mine was less and its a year newer. Bought in Boston as well and has sport pkg and fewer miles. Not worth it.

But the couple of thousand less in price would include the import fees. And keep in mind that Canadian BMWs are (for whatever reason) more expensive than US BMWs. They're the exact same car, but more expensive. So I would still be getting a car cheaper than what I could get it for retail over here in Canada.

Talking Man, are you NUTS?

man, that price is way way too high - you should be able to get a 2008 with far fewer miles for $33k (a BRAND NEW 328xi starts at $34,600!). for that kind of coin, you should be able to get a 2007 335i with similar miles, or easily a 2006 330xi.

to wit: a dealership in California has a 2007 335i with 18,799 miles for $29,825 - and it's CERTIFIED. have a look:

Thanks for your input guys, I'll try to talk him down.

But here's a few of them (comparable models) for sale in canada:

http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...5&pgno=6&srt=7
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...4&pgno=6&srt=7
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...6&pgno=6&srt=7
http://www.canadatrader.com/result/d...6&pgno=6&srt=7

Canada sells them WAY more than US for a reason which is unknown to me.

I agree with you guys, if I were buying it in the US and staying in the US, I could find a better deal, but seing as the $31,000 he would be selling this to me include the import fees, I don't see this as being a bad deal.

Well yes I understand that but Canada is in the same continent as the US. I don't get how the same car can be 10K$ less brand new in the US than over here in Canada, even with the import fees.

WALK AWAY

The bluebook RETAIL value (highest value) is 26,000. If he offers 23-24k then I may think about it. Take this into consideration, you can buy a optionless 2009 328i for 32,700

that first link is shady. it says it has premium package, but in the picture, it clearly does not have HID.

for what it's worth, i paid around 28 for my 2006 325i which had 38k miles on it. it does have premium and cold weather

Premium package does not include HID. Unless this was part of the package on a 2006. I know that on a 2008 Xenon's are an extra charge option.

Thanks, Mike.
