Im going to be taking my wheels off of my 07 335i tomorrow and I have never had to do it before so this will be my first time. Can someone tell me what I need to to this, I have a jack already but what tools will I need.

seriously its not rocket science bro, just jack it up and take the lug nuts off. its simple. what are you doing it for? you need all 4 off at the same time? or just one by one

That doesn't answer my question at all. Im taking one wheel off and I don't know what tool to buy to take the lug nuts off.

17mm you need a metric wrench.

uhh i donno, test it out i just did a little searching and thats how i found out, the size and what you need, but im pretty sure you need a metric wrench for Euro/Japanese cars. good luck!

17mm Tire Wrench. DO NOT use a normal socket set. Probably break it.
Put some Painters tape on teh wrench so you don't scratch the rims.
BMW a stupid Jacking point design. You need a 1" x 2" solid wooden block to insert into the jacking points. Check your owners manual for location(s) and then familarize yourself.

Basically:
-Parking Brake on
-depending on which tire you are jacking up, place a tire stop (sand bag, 2x4, whatever) on the opposite and diagonal side of the car.
-Loosen tire nuts. LOOSEN, do not remove
-Jack up car with help of 1x2 block
-Remove tire
-Install Tire and hand tighten lugs with some minor tightening with the tire wrench
-lower car
-tighten and TORQUE lugs with good torque wrench
-Retighten lugs after 100kms

voila.

Your local Auto Parts store. You're in the uS? So Pep boyz or whatever.

Probably 15-20 bucks. Sometimes they are like a cross shape with difference sizes...17, 19, 20 mm. etc.

I would use metric specific sockets so you don't run the risk of messing up the lugs. Just go buy a set of metric sockets. If you plan on doing anything else to the car you are going to need metric sockets anyways. And you need a Ratchet and socket, you won't be able to loosen the lugs with a wrench, I mean just look at you'r wheels it should be obvious that a wrench isn't going to work. Not trying to be a dick, just saying.

no offense, but this is pretty straight forward/common sense. if it's taking you this long to figure out even what tool you need, then i fear for your safety and the well being of your car. just pay someone to do whatever you want to do.

if you insist on doing it yourself, your best bet is to find a friend who knows what they're doing and help you out the first time.

my thoughts exactly.. funny thinking there's "professional" thieves out there that can do this in less than 30 seconds but this thread has been long and dragged out..

Na dont worry Im not doing I just need the tools required. Sorry but I dont currently nor have I ever worked for BMW so I can't tell the lug size by looking at it

Im sorry man but this is basic stuff this isnt an engine swap. in the time it took you to post the question you could of done 10 google searches.
I usually refrain but come on people are here to help im new as well ( to BMW's not cars ) but this is about as basic as it can get.
