Dude, want to help me swap the exhaust this weekend? Beers and a few bucks? It's a pretty easy job and I could really just use the help with tools and stuff.

I'm still pretty new and learning the nice spots. Might be able to get up with you, but not to sure since it'll be my anniversary. There's suppose to be a cookout/dyno day on the 11th. Let me know if you're interested and I'll get you on the list.

Want me to just buy you a bottle of something to help me out this weekend? I'd appreciate the assist, since I haven't swapped a BMW exhaust specifically.

To be clear, what exhaust do you have? Some require welding, but if its a straight bolt-on exhaust (dp back), I'm game. If welding required, I have an exhaust shop that does great work for low prices.

It's just the performance BMW exhaust for e92's.. Pretty sure it's just a bolt on. Am I correct? If so, I'll go buy some crown now.

We can be classy. Crown on the rocks while swapping an exhaust... and I'll wash that down with a cold bud light.

yea its just the rear section, need to cut the pipes then clamp it down. you're gonna need a saws-all and a decent size pry bar those hangers can be tough.

This. You'll have to hack away on the stock exhaust and used the clamps provided or weld it.

So, just to clarify, when folks sell their performance exhausts, they are generally buying new stock exhausts to replace their sawed pipes?

Yep, that or they get their stock mufflers welded back on which would be the best way. It'll be cheaper and easier. Stock exhaust are always on the FS section, but shipping it isn't worth it. It's heavy and one long piece .

This is going to be a fun day. Jim, hit me up if you guys need a hand.

Edit: came across this. Seems like you do have to cut the pipes

Ahhh ok. Well, that's that then! Would you have a saw of sorts? I'm thinking of just taking it to SW if not, as they were going to do my brakes anyways...

I was looking for a good DIY! Sweetness. I'll hold onto this.

*edit*

There's a post in there about getting a full exhaust with pipes and everything. I wonder if mine is the same. I don't think I just got performance mufflers... Thoughts?
