Wink My E93 beginning... plus some classics

Traded my 328 e90 in a few weeks ago(black on black)... came back with a gold 335 e93. Although I love the gold color(it looks a lot better in person than pics), I can't help but feel it's a little old-people ish. So I'm trying to make it a bit more aggressive while maintaining the BMW class.

Got it bone stock, Tan/Brown wood interior, Logic7 sound, premium, 6 speed, all the goodies. Beautiful, classy looking car, but with no personal touch. Also, I like my mods to a car to be on a budget, so I keep minimal in time. In total I've put a little over $300 into this car.

So far I have added(in order of date)
1. Tinted back and rear windows. Think I'll take the front two into the shop for it as they where a lot harder to do myself. All in all it came out near perfect tinting them myself-$60(three rolls of tint)
2. Bought used BMS DCI from a forum member and popped that in-$50
3. Bought used JB3 from same forum member and popped that in-$200
4. Plasti-dipped grill, trim, and bottom grill-$6 plastidip $1 for ballons and $1 for tape

Future plans:
Get wheels powdercoated(anyone know a good place around Fayetteville, AR by any chance?
Tint front windows, possible eyebrow
Upgrade to JB4
Some performance goodies(FMIC, Downpipes first on mind)

Now for pics!
Stock(except for tint)

Blacked out grills

For the lower trim, I bought some balloons and blew them up inside, to prevent the intercooler from getting plastidipped. Worked pretty well as planned, I read about it on here somewere. Then I just popped the balloons n pulled em out!
Blacked out trim

The DCI's

BONUS: Can hear a mean turbo spool now

Now for the other cars in the garage. There my pops. For a total of a American/Italian/German/Japanese garage.

The '90 348TS

The '69 Vette

And last, one my favorites is the '71 240z

I give a lot of respect for guys who do window tinting because it's a major PITA to do. I really like that Ferrari 348, beautiful car.

Yea the tinting was a pain in the ass to get it perfect. its not 100% but it looks pretty damn good for something I did myself I think.

Did you do the back window in one piece? The front windows are easier to do than the back window , but yet you weren't able to do the fronts? Also what type of tint did you use? guessing from the price you paid ($60 for 3 rolls ) I am assuming it's offbrand tint?

Yes it is absolutely a PITA to do on some cars. Alot of people think it's easy until they actually try it themselves. How do I know? I have been tinting cars for 15 years now and I still get cars and windows that make me want to stop tinting.

It was some from Oreilly's.. The most expensive they had there. $20 a roll. I got the back in one piece, on the e93 it was pretty much flat. The side windows curve up a bunch. and it always rolls up and down so that's when it starts messing up because every time you open the door the window rolls down like half an inch.

Be prepared to remove all the tint in about 2 years because that stuff WILL turn purple. As far as the windows rolling down when you open the door, when we tint those what we do is stick a screwdriver into the door to make it think it is closed, then tint it then pull the handle to pop the latch .

Yeah, I mean I'm not expecting a whole lot out of some cheap o'reilleys tint, but it got the job done-looks nice and keeps the car cool(er) during the 100+ degree summer.
