Speak to Anneka and see if you can't get a better deal from Sytner.

£220 for an oil service?
Supply your own oil and save cash.

oil-oil filter and reset for 220? that is steep
Funny though, i was once upon a time over at my local dealership for prices on oil changes. Quoted over 200, when asked why , he said because i had a special engine.. '' a 1,6 M43

That does seem a tad steep, I was quoted £163.29 if my dealer supplies the oil or £78.06 if I supply. They don't know if my oil is suitable until I show them apparently even though its LL04 (Castrol Edge 0W 30 by the way).

just collected my 320d from the dealer, Vines BMW, this afternoon after an oil and microfilter service at 18000 miles, I left there £235 lighter!! sounds fairly close to what you where quoted
£20 - Svs info reset £30 - to change oil £85 - oil !! £9.50 - disposal £13 - filter £10 - to change microfilter £31 - microfilters All plus VAT of course! It wouldnt be so bad if i had done all of the mileage, but we have only done 5500 miles since we got it in nov last year. 2750 miles of that was 2 trips cruising down to the south of france to see the in-laws. Anyway, hope you can stike a better deal, good luck |

I paid £120 for my last service at Sytner in Sutton Coldfield.
This included the micro filter but I supplied the oil myself. The 6 cyl engines hold close to 8 lts not sure about the 4 cyl though but I would expect it to hold no more than 5 lts. Sounds like you are getting stung on the oil. I would supply it yourself. |

without trying to annoy anyone i've always found Sytner to be a lot more expensive than Stratstone, infact I don't even bother ringing them up now for a quote. They have in the past offered to match Stratstones price but I just think well your default position is to charge loads so i'd rather go to the firm that prices competitively in the first place.
To be fair to them though they are a busy business, lead times are always longish, there's always people waiting in the service area in the odd few occasions ive been in so there must be a lot of people happy to pay their prices. |

If yours is a later car they now change the microfilter (aircon filter) with each oil/filter change, you will see this if there is NO separate countdown given for the microfilter.
Older cars used to have separate intervals for microfilter and oil. So does the OPs cost include the microfiler too? thats about £30. |

Overall what is the best price people have paid for a main dealer first service (2 year old car) - i.e oil & filter, microfilter and brake fluid change, more or less than £250?

There'll be the 'vehicle inspection' too I think by 2 years? That's £100ish.
Much more then £250 from a dealers for sure... More like £500 for that lot, with the dubious 'inspection' (£95 for chatting whilst they have a cuppa) |

Hi
My car is a similar age to yours and when I bought it, I tracked down the previous service history and receipts etc. I have a bill dated 10/06/09 from Fawdington, Newcastle - £146. This is for an oil service and includes: Service, oil, oil filter, microfilter, health check. Jeff |

I've just had the 2 year one - Oil, Filter, Micro Filter & Brake Fluid, came to £280. Which is still steep but not too bad (compared to what Ford used to charge for a Diesel focus.)
