Oil for my 320d e90 2005 SE
Hello, need to top up some oil and have found 2 bottles in my garage but not sure if they are okay to use.
First one is Castrol Magnatec OE 5w-40 And the other is xflow type LL01 5w 30 Can I use any of these? Only shop local is tesco so can I buy the one I need from there? |

I would either not bother topping it up and change the oil fully in a couple of days or top it up and change the oil anyway in a few more days!

Okay, think I'll grab a litre just out my mind at rest and buy the stuff needed for an oil change soon.
The only warning that came up was the notification triangle next to the mileage and in the check error messages on idrive it said oil level at low. Is this just a prompt? So can be driven say 20 miles to work etc? |

Yeah thats fine! Its not ideal to be at low on the dipstick but not the worst!
If you had low oil pressure, i would be concerned! Give it a litre and get it changed, then check it more often! |

when changing oil, don't bother wasting money paying extra for BMW spec oil either. look for the industry standard of ACEA A3/B4, as that is all the LL04 spec means anyway, BMW don't have magicians making oil.... they buy it off the shelf like everyone else. |
