POLL: What would you do with ~$4K in mods
I have some money to drop and I was thinking about doing the RD sport Quads and some BBS CH's but then I got the thinking and I'm wondering if it's worth the money considering the gains are not much. and the CH's are on back order so Chime in people tell me what your dreams are. Even if it's a suspension I have Coilovers but might want to try something else out just for kicks. Lemme know folks.thanks

Well you've got a PROcede already, so you don't need that.
You've got suspension already so you don't need that. If you are still running on the stock wheels/tires, I'd change those. For under $2K you can get a nice set of 19" wheels and tires. May I suggest the 19" CSL reps with General Exclaim UHP tires. Great performance upgrade in all respects. Then with the additional $2k or so you have left over, consider the Quaife LSD. $1700 plus shipping and about $600 to install. If you have a welded diff. then you'll need to spend a bit more or not install the LSD. I like the RD sport exhaust with quad tips so that's not a bad option either. |

Glad you liked the Generals.
I think I proved on my sedan they're pretty great for the price and work well with the 335i's I've gotten dozens of PM's from people after the Famoso day asking me about the Generals and how I liked them. I think I swayed most all of them to get the Generals as well. I still occasionally get a PM asking me about my experience with them, but the word is now out that they are by far the best "bang for the buck" tire you can buy. Now that I got my Coupe, my Quaife LSD that's been sitting in my garage for months is begging to into the car. But with the welded diff. it's a bit tougher. I'm trying to work on getting a non-welded diff to swap with so I can install the LSD. Hopefully in the next month or so. Let me know when you get the LSD installed. |

Hartge LSD? U kidding, right?
First of all I doubt there is s/t like Hartge LSD. AFAIK they dont manufacture trannies nor LSD's, so it's more likely a Drexler unit. And to buy it for 3.500$ (what I heard), when U have a similar (or better) unit from quaife for half of the price... U could use the spared $$ to buy s/t else, or maybe to get a nonwelded replacement, if U're not the lucky one w/o it... I'd put it this way, 1. Quaife LSD 2. Piggy ECU (U already have) 3. Riss turboback 4. whatever catback (U already have) 5. coilovers (U already have) 6. rear swaybar 7. intercooler (when Turbonetics or someone else releases finally a high flow one with proven gains) 8. sport air filter 9. some nice lighter wheels with stickier tires for track days . . . 50. Dymag carbon magnesium wheels (whoaaaa, really sexy, cca 10 grands for a set) . . . 100. intake (when U reach 650HP and wont have anything else to waste money for) |

a track car - would need the downpipes, 17 or 18 in light wheels (like volks) and slicks, and LSD... maybe BBK a "show" car - would need a new A/V system in the car with new speakers, amps, sub, tv, etc... Although i am not personally into it, maybe its for u... a "street" car - u already have it with Proceed , coils, wheels, etc.... so don't spend it on ur car and invest it... wisely.

Exclaims are great. I run 275/30/19's on the rear of my M3 on CSL replicas. (245's up front). Does anyone know if I can take the wheels/tires of my M3 and install them on my 335i without any clearance/offset problems?

The Hartge's one comes to you ready to install as it has been already tuned from Hartges technicians before shipping. So it's not actually who manufactures the differial but who's setting it up. Anyway i believe that Hartge wouldn't pick the wrong material wouldn't they.

is there any wrong material?
and the LSDs are set up for the specific car type from the manufacturer, no need (and I'd say no possibility) for further setup. at least quaife is a direct bolt-on, if U dont have the welded stock diff... |
