I would have joined this when the group by was set but I had a stroke and had to SORN my E92. Passed my test with DVLA last month after an appeal and got my license back! Having this done next Tuesday and very excited about it. Can't wait!

After reading the latest "my cars been stolen" post I've become very interested in this alarm system.
Any feed back from members with it? Does it invalidate the warranty? Any chance of another group buy? |

Just read the post. Great review and makes me want it even more. How do we get in touch with Anthony and is he the one that did the last viper group buy?

Are these viper systems not just a product of Clifford alarms? And can therefore be fitted by any authorised agent?

The directed electronics group is a massive out fit... Viper, Python and Clifford to name a few. Some components from different lines are superior to others and most of the viper stuff is better but otherwise they seem to have gone generic with other components which are now just marked as 'directed electronics' or 'xpresskit'... but I am no expert on the industry so cannot enlighten you further.
I think it would be best to have a word with the man himself: http://www.securemycar.co.uk/ As far as I know there are a few authorized installers out there but not many of them are knowledgeable... yes they know how to wire things up... but clips get broken, trim gets damaged... sensors short and catch fire... and so to speak the install is often not done properly. I can name a few around the London area to avoid! Secure my car are probably the only firm that offer the obd fix which is worth the money.. I am not sure who else is offering this fix so it might be worth googling. |

The alarm system itself integrated well with the existing security fitted to the car and offers peace of mind, the pager function i find particularly reassuring with its 1 mile range meaning you almost always know if anyone has so much as parked next to your car or looked through the window. And of course Antony does his own OBD "fix" which, coupled with the additional Viper immobilizer, makes the car as secure as it needs to be. After all if they really want to steal it no amount of security will stop them. It is not cheap to fit but i don't regret it for a second. Nice to know it won't be my BMW that disappears because of a cloned key. |
