Had my recall done on Friday and luckily no bolts were broken. I also talked to my SA about a dme update because of the idle issues I was experiencing. My car has 54k and is out of warranty but since my SA is awesome, he got it done at no charge and so far it seems like it did the trick. I haven't driven very far with the jb4 back in the car though so I'll have to wait and see if the idle issues don't come back.

Dropped my car off last week Thursday at BMW North Scottsdale for an alignment and they said they would do the VANOS recall as well. Turns out the previous owner(im in CPO) had an issue and they had replaced and repaired at that time. So they checked everything but was good.
They also gave me a pretty neat BMW umbrella and a BMW multi-scent air freshener kit on the house. The air freshener smells gross though, I would rather my leather conditioner smell. |

Since they fixed my recall my car been idling and its pissing me off, any idea how to fix that? My car out of warranty, when I called back next day to ask about idle they told me to come by they will take a look for "only" 200 dollars....freaking asshole. Plus they broke my front bumper and manager never called back.

Took my car in for an oil change and had my VANOS bolts done today. No bolts were broken so it was quick. Not sure why they listed that 10 bolts were replaced...probably a typo. Love my dealership! Left my tune in and on since they found it a while ago. They also looked into BMW Apps issues while I was there despite it being coded into my car by a retrofit company. Finally they tossed on $50 "warranty goodwill" to spend in the BMW accessories boutique for having to deal with the recall. Can't complain Everyone else may want to ask about the $50 though.

Got an oil change and my VANOS recall done. No problems at all, everything was done in one day. Very impressed with the service received. Even got a new VCG out of it, that's pretty good to know I'm going to be leak-free for at least another 80k before it plasticizes.

Dropped car off today and apparently one of the bolts blew off. So long story short they took everything apart and found parts of it in the oil pan. Should have the car back tomorrow. In the end I got new spark plugs, oil change, new valve cover gasket; not 100% sure on the oil pan but it looks like they wanted to replace it to based on my talk with the SA.
Oh and I got a 320 loaner, the car is fairly decent for a 4 cylinder with less than 200hp. |

Was your car having issues? I don't think the spark plugs are normally due to be changed at 40k.

Seems like I'm not getting the car back till Friday. Looks like I'm also getting a new hood (don't ask).. I guess I'll be rocking the 320 for a few more days; car is not bad when you push that sports mode button.
