Anyone on the UNDINE departed 11/22?

The Undine is on the move again - Next stop Halifax!

Once it gets out into the North Atlantic it should turn on its tracking device so that it can be followed at http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html#search .

Picus:

I spoke to my CA and he had good news. He thinks that my car will be delivered BEFORE Christmas. Here's how he figured it:

Car arrives at Halifax Dec. 5

Add about 2 days to get on train - Dec. 7

4 to 5 days to Toronto by train - Dec. 11 or 12

2 days from Toronto to dealer - Dec. 13 or 14

1 day or so for PDI etc. - Dec. 14 or 15

He then added on a few days for screw ups/delays etc. to get to week of Mon. Dec. 18 - i.e. before Christmas. (By the way, I got the car from the BMW dealer in St. Catherines.)

It would be one hell of a present and I'd be able to drive it to friends and family for the festive celebrations. On top of that, I am taking the days off between Christmas and New Years and this will give some extra time to gently break her in.

I can't wait!

Anyways, it won't be long before you are tracking your own car making its way across the big pond.

Somebody may have an easier method than this:

- copy the image from your browser to the clipboard
- paste into a photo editing program (Paint, Paint Shop Pro, etc)
- save to a file
- attach the file to your post with the Manage Attachments button

Voila! In all honesty it didn't attach the first time but then I edited the post
and it magically appeared...?

(you'll have to figure this out cause this thread belongs to you guys with cars actually on the ship - I just wanted to get the ball rolling)

As for your delivery date - before Christmas sounds right. Earlier this month when I was hoping to catch your ship I figured Dec 20th, 21st or 22nd.

It looks like the sailors do need some relief and a happy ending.

Seriously, the Undine is now scheduled to arrive in Halifax on Dec 6, 1 day late. In looking at weather maps of the North Altantic, it looks like there is a nasty storm in the northeastern part of the ocean that the Undine is sailing south to avoid. I guess this has caused the delay. Anyways, here is the updated schedule from Wallenius Wilhelmsen:

Arrggggghhhhh! I should have kept my big mouth shut. The Undine is now delayed another day with the Willenius Wilhelmsen site showing docking and unloading occurring on Dec. 7 (a day that will live on in infamy). Sure hope that CN - oops, better zip up my gob. No more jinxing the system!

I wonder if there is something up at Halifax; right now the Undine shows docked in New Foundland; which is actually further than Halifax... weird.

Must have been just a GPS f***-up. No way a ship like that can travel over 500 miles in 6 hours and then end up some distance inshore on Nfld. Anyways, it seems to have been cleared up now with the latest update.
