I'm interested in JB4 too. Not trying to hijack your thread just looking for info. I've got a 130,000 mile 335i and am keen to get a JB4 but concerned about destroying my beautiful car. Does anyone know how safe it is? It just seems to good to be true that you can plug a little box into your car and get 100hp.

It's true. It is that good. Soo good in fact, there has been hundreds of threads saying how good it is!

I think it's more like a 40hp boost with stock parts

Ah right sounds good I may have to invest in one. I thought I'd read somewhere they gave 100hp 40hp does sound a lot more realistic and safe. Thanks.

For me its way more than 40hp, unless your car is performing badly.

I'm also looking for a JB4.. Maybe if there's enough of us, we could do a group buy.. Or at the very least place an order together to save on shipping from the states?

Yeah could do. They mark it down to $100 which means about £30 shipping cost so it's not too bad

Nope, but if its only 40hp, I wouldn't be able to keep a Z4MC honest with a boot full and 2 passengers.

Also 5th gear (1.00) with JB4 out pulls 4th gear (1.19) stock. In fact, even in situations where i'd drop to 4th to pass stock, I find I just stay in 6th, so I'd say there is easily at least 20% more torque, at the low end. There only needs to be 15% more torque at the top end for +60hp and I think it has that. 1st and 2nd are brutal at the top end compared to stock.

The gains are at least 60 hp. Probably nearer 80. As Andy said, it's the low down shove that's most noticeable.
JB4 is easily the best bang for buck mod I have ever come across.

Has anyone had any warranty work done by BMW with a JB4 installed?

I'm tempted but don't want to risk losing my warranty.
