CC ID 419 - Drive Malfunction Warning Light

Hi all,

I have got a warning symbol up and its driving me crazy as I cant figure out what it means!!!

It has the symbol:

https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/i...jEe6kZpUxO9vVm

The CC-ID code is 419.

This comes up under the Electronic Gearbox Control/Sequential Sports Gearbox area as EGS/SSG 419 Drive Malfunction

The car drives absolutely fine, no acceleration issues!!

My friend works at BMW and nothing comes up with his diagnostic machine except something to do with the DPF.

Drove it on the motorway in 4th and that warning has gone, so must have been unrelated.

Help!!!

The car was parked in the bodyshop for a couple of months.

I just found out the battery was flat for most of that time, so they must have re-charged it.

Could this be the cause? Ive read low voltage can cause random warning lights to come up.

That light also means the car is due or over due an inspection.... Are you sure it's not just in need of its MOT and needs reseting if you've already had it done?

Can it definitely be an inspection light? As it doesn't state so in the user manual.
Can it be reset manually like a service light?
Thanks.

Did you figure this out? I just had this light pop up. Car went into limp mode. Restarted it and ran fine. Please advise.
