It's been a while since I've posted here. All I'm missing is the coding. I have all hardware and wiring ready to go. I'll update everyone once I find a day that I can drop my car off to get coded.

Hi gIzzE, and thanks a lot for your help. You seem more experimented than my BMW dealer

According to my understanding, there's no problem for a BMW dealer to code a second hand MULF2 ( as far as it's not broken of course...)
==> Can you confirm?

Also do you think it is possible to code for the USB (6FL) with the MULF2 HIGH but without the USB retrofit kit (no wires no hub), because I allready spent 500 Euros for this f*** Bluetooth, and I can't afford an extra 230 (price of the USB retrofit kit in France). Beside, I don't really care about the USB...

Thanks again

Hi,
I would like to install bluetooth in my 2009 328i, but do not know if I have the right connectors pre-wired. I don't have BMW Assist, but I do have the 6FL iPhone option. Below are pics of what I have in the trunk. Can anyone let me know if I can just buy the oem mic, and oem bluetooth antenna and install them myself. Thanks.

OK so I finally changed the MULF2 HIGH for a MULF2 LOW, and...
It worked!!!! Actually bluetooth worked without any coding (obviously it was allready coded onto a previous car...)

So

PS: Voice control doesn't work but... So I have to see if these MULF2 LOW can give voice control or not. If yes, maybe I'll have the car tio get coded for SA620...

Congrats and thanks for the update! Yeah, I learned that the connectors in the pic are for satellite radio. I'm going to give this a try with the MULF2 High. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work with the HIGH?

Dealership said it was not possible to add the bluetooth antenna and mic to my car without some serious hardware installation. They quoted a price in the $1x,000 range. Pretty ridiculous if true.

The bluetooth antenna can sit in the boot and tucked under the MULF, and the mic just needs some cheap 2 core wire from Radioshack running down the sills and up to the headlining.

Total cost for all will be no more than $50 and take around 15 minutes to install from start to finish.

Cool Installing Bluetooth in my 2007 328i

Hey - I really need some help here. I have a 2007 328i and i want to install bluetooth. I can get the bluetooth part from a friend of mine but i have some questions that need to be answered because i am a bit confused.
1. I read that my car is already pre wired, is that true? is that shown in the picture below? if so,
2. What else do i have to do? get the BMW MULF2 BLUETOOTH install it and plug the cables in my trunk? or, do i have to get more cables?
3.What about the mic . do I have it already installed in the car or, I have to get it from Radio-shack and install it. if so,
4. Do I have to take the Radio out and plug it in?
PLEASE HELP! I'm so confused ...

hi
does that mean mulf2 without usb will not work for bluetooth???

i have a 530i and have the same problem. I have bought mulf2 only to find out that it doesnt fit.. and also the dealer is reluctant to try to fit cuz he thinks programming it would be a nightmare..

i think i shud get ulf low as well..

BUT will I loose voice control??? how can i keep voice control and replace my faulty control unit.. the dealer has quoted me 1600 dollars to replace my faulty tcu..
pls some advice

Hi guys I've been doing a ton of searching and this is where I'm at. I just purchased a 2011 135i with Ipod/usb. I didn't need bluetooth but if I can get if for low cost (sub $200ish) I would like to. Based on what I have read (haven't checked) I should have the MULF2 module. So then the parts I would need are: (taken from previous page)

microphone: 84316938762
BT antenna: 84506928461
3 pins for the mulf2 connector
mic cable
coax with facra connectors

After I install these parts I would then need to get the car coded. Am I missing anything? Any tips?

I was going to do this myself on my '11 135i as well, so I purchased all the parts you listed and soldered all the pins professionally. I just never even attempted the installation given that shortly after I ordered a 1M. If you'd like I can sell you the kit and all you have to do is install all the components on your car and get it coded. All parts are simply sitting on my garage table. PM me and I'll sell it to you for a decent price and it will save you all the work/trips to the dealer.

Thanks!

To update everyone, I got the parts from 1SerieStud. Great guy to deal with. I will be installing and going in for coding in the next week. Will keep you posted. Cautiously optimistic...

Well, so far so not good. The part that I thought would be easiest does not fit...the BT antenna. I guess I'll do some research to see if there is a new cable or antenna for my e82 2011 135i...

The part number of this antenna is 84506928461

Just take the plastic surround off the cable.
The purple bit lifts up and then the white casing will slide off.

The smb connector should just go in and be a pretty tight fit anyway.

Well more bad news. Dealer said the tech messed around with it for a few hours and there was no way for him to add it. I told him to click either add option SA644 or tick hands free gsm - im going from memory - but I wrote down whatever was written earlier in this thread and gave it to him. He said nothing showed up for him to tick and that I would need a BT enabled TCU. I read earlier in this thread that whoever did the coding took the VIN from a BT enabled car and used that to get the option to pop up. Something tells me the dealer is not going to be willing to do that lol. Maybe I'll try an autologic 3rd party shop in the Chicago area or just give up on the project. The dealer was very cool with me because I had a programming recall for the N55 and he said no problem to adding the BT since they were already going to be programming the car.

Thanks for the tip. Contacted Patrys and will have him code it in a week or so. Hope to finally resolve whether the retrofit is possible on e82 without ordering a TCU.

Hope the pins 1, 19, and 21 instructions work because my mulf is a bit different than in the diagram...but pins 1, 19, and 21 are empty so we shall see.
