People are inconsiderate pieces of crap
So, sitting in my car in the parking garage before work. Lady pulls in beside me. Looks and sees me in the car. She opens her door to get out, then pushes it further and hits my car. I immediately get out because I watched her the entire time. I walk over to look at it and she never says a word as she walks away!!! I get more and more mad and I yell "thank you for hitting my car ma'am, you suck!" she turned, looked at me with no expression change, turns and keeps walking. I could have murdered her.
Well there's my rant. Put a small scratch on the car but I will be able to get it out easy. All she needed to say was "I'm very sorry" and sympathize a bit. |

I would get her license plate and file a police report. She damaged your property; you TOLD her she damaged your property and she deliberately ignored you. I would not let that go, personally. I would be insanely mad, and you have every right to be pissed AND to go after her for damages (assuming she actually did damage to your car).

Trust me I would have walked after her to talk about it but being she was a woman and we were in a parking garage, that would not have looked good. I am still shaking I am so mad and that was 2hrs ago. I took a pic of her plate and sent into my best friend, that just so happens to be a cop in the county that her car is registered. Don't think he can do anything legally but heaven help her if she ever gets pulled over.

Could probably be construed as a "hit and run" type situation, no? Depending on the damage, I'd have called the cops. I should have called the cops after someone hit my car parallel parking two weeks after I picked it up. Deep gouges on the back bumper and nothing I can do since the guy drove off after hitting me. People suck.

I would have returned the favor with my key. Hopefully it can buff out.

That happend once in my school parking lot with a guy he was so scared he pulled out 40$ and gave it to me.. Thought I was going to beat him up. Anyway I try and park far now and when some d-bag comes and parks next to me in an open parking lot I just spit right on there window and hop in my car and leave.

I would have been polite and said "excuse me, you damaged my car may I have your insurance information?" if she refused, I would have called the cops.
Inside I would have been fuming, but emotion never benefits a situation like that. Sorry to hear about the situation |

The appropriate response is this:
"Excuse me lady, you just damaged my car. You can provide your insurance information or I'm calling the police." Then it's up to her. She either complies or walks away. At that point you need to follow through and file a damage report with the police. Just getting mad and ranting here doesn't fix anything.

Similar scenario, happend to me. I ended up jumping out of my car, following the guy and confronting him in the store, politely but firmly. He apologized and he gave me his insurance information. I didn't claim it since he was a nice about it and it buffed right out.
That's YOUR property that YOU paid for!

I wouldn't have let her leave. Probably would have called the police, explained and showed the damage.

Always have an assorted size of rocks or balls in your car, put it inside the muffler, all good to go. It'll take a while for someone to find out "OHH there's your problem."
