Maybe a stupid question - are these cables the same? Or can either an AE or BT cable also be used for coding?
I'm planning to buy a scantool (either AE or BT) as well as get into coding. No need to buy duplicated equipment. |

no, you will need a DCAN+ INPA cable to code. ask me how i know
try reading the sticky's or doing a search, they can answer most of your questions in the future.

BT cables use the FTDI USB to RS232 chipset, but they are NOT compatible with K+DCAN cables. You need BT cable for BT software and a K+DCAN for INPA/NCS/etc. No interchange between the two is possible--at least as far as I've been able to ascertain.
