2005 E91 M Sport 320d Auto MPG

I've been driving using cruise at 65mph on motorway/dual carriage way for 12 miles and the MPG won't go above about 44, does this sound normal or too low? Round town it's going down to about 30.

Sounds too low to me but i'd like to hear from others with the same car first before trying to locate a fault.

Any help/info much appreciated...

Thats normal.
The auto box and the 163bhp engine work against it, its only the more recent engines with start/stop that get 50+.
