Dave, I thought it might have been some glue stuff, just was not sure.

Glad you enjoyed the runs however, seems like you got well settled into it in the end. Did you switch off the traction fully? What was the launch teqhnique?

Is it just a JB4 you have, or further mods?
Just as Ben (vtec_abuser) says, the strong head wind affected all final MPH's today.

I was getting better starts, due to me replacing the run flats and reducing the pressures.

I reckon that if I had the perfect conditions, I could easily run a sub 12.5s. That would be:

No strong head wind
Warm tyres and track.
Good start with the DCT
And I never take the car over 5800rpm, even though the red line is at 7000 rpm, I have a strict rule of 5800 max, as I intend to keep this car for about another 4/5 years as I'm in love with this one.

p.s. Just JB4 and DCI's (Plus the lovely DCT gearbox)

It's all lost for me in the gear changes. Every change up just see him edge a foot or two on me.

Would love a DCT box ..

Although the extra 20 horses probably has something to do with it too
That was an interesting run. You got off to a flyer which I expect from an Auto box, your 60ft of 1.9s I can only dream of.

There seemed to be a big gap between us and I didn't think I could reel you in from that position, but as you say, I noticed on your gear changes I was pulling you back.

After I was having a showdown at the end with the remapped M5 V10, which I won 3-2 , somebody came up to me and said that they noticed when other cars were changing gear they slowed down, but mine just seemed to keep punching forward. When I showed them the DCT box, they accused me of cheating!

BTW, did anybody hear the custom exhaust on that V10 M5?
It was by Wortec and was being tested on the day.

Yes mate as it was another BW chiptune mapped car. Jason was having great fun with it ..

I've seen the merit of the DCT box now for the first time... Does make a big ol difference !

Try with DTC all the way off and spool up the engine with the brake on. And an almost empty tank should help.

Its nice to see some newer classy looking cars...... The pictures of the event i saw on another forum made the event look a bit like a car boot sale with some very dubious looking cars that may once have been BMW's!!
