E85/Kroger fill up
I usually fill up with 93 at chevron. Since I've discovered e85 at my local Kroger I've been first going to chevron and filling up 3/4 then driving 10 minutes to the Kroger station to put in the e85. My question is is the 93 octane at chevron that much better than the 93 at Kroger? I'd prefer to fill up everything at Kroger, but I dont know if their 93 is crap...

I would do several logs on each tank of gas and check timing.

This.
In my experience Sheetz and Kroger gas is usually the poorest quality as far as knock prevention is concerned. Which is exactly why i use it when i'm dialing in a map. If it looks good on crap 93 then i don't have to worry about it if i can't find the top shelf stuff if i'm out of town.

As others have recommended you want to log the fuel to make sure your car likes the fuel, but I have used Kroger brand fuel and their E85 fuel with good success, I ran a 40/60 mix. Most brand name gasoline ie Shell and chevron run better detergents in their premium gasoline compared to other stations so just run an injector or fuel system cleaner once a month and you should be fine.

I don't think you'll have any issues using their 93 because of the E85 your running. I would just go 100% E85 because it's a hassle mixing unless it's still cold outside and then it wouldn't be worth the cold starts. Bad pump gas sucks @$$ when you get some. I always use Shell here, but made the mistake of filling at a Chevron once... That was the longest week in my entire life.

I was in a similar situation. Sheetz is the only local place that offers e85. I tried using their premium gas with the e85 and was getting a lot of major timing corrections. Tried Shell and it literally had 0 timing corrections. Hess's wasn't quite as perfect as Shell's but still very good.

Honestly, if i was serious about running e85 i would just jump on an LPFP uprade and not worry about mixing it. Eventually running a heavy ethanol mix on the OEM pump is going to work it to death. Might as well just drop a little dough(depending on the route you can spend as little as $150 to $600 bucks) and have a long term solution that not only eliminates the hassle but opens the door for more power. When it's cold as shit outside just run gasoline, it's not like you'll have enough traction to make use of the e85 anyway lol
