Charge Pipe + BOV combo

Hello All,

I am about to make this purchase and I need some advice. I do not want a BOV that is to loud. I am currently FBO and GIAC stage II. I may upgrade turbos in teh future and or run meth so I need to keep that in mind when making the decision.

the kit that caught my attention thus far is the one from BMS sells

cp-e charge pipe with Tial Blowoff Valve Kit with Meth Bung‏

thank you - Luigi

I'm a fan of the tial, but prefer the ER long pipe

I have the ER Long w/ Tial Q BOV, and love it. It's not too loud (Tial is the quietest common BOV on this platform), but has enough noise to make me happy when running through the gears

Tial would be the quietest and most popular.

Unfortunately there are not many CP-E dealers on this forum, if any. We mostly push ER ourselves. I actually had a CP-E and switched to ER personally.

We offer CP-E
But i do agree with Jeff, Evolution Racewerks would be a better choice.
I recommend you get the long ER charge pipe with 1 meth bung and a Tial BOV

I just bought my car about 3 months ago and it has a charge pipe with Tial BOV. I'm not sure what brand (not clearly labeled or anything) but I'm really pleased with it. Loud enough to hear it especially if your stepping on it, but not obnoxious or anything. really clean sounding pitch. try checking some videos on you tube and should give you a decent idea.

I have the cpe chargepipe with tial bov and have not had any issues. Ran 17 psi steadily with no probs. and i like how it comes with meth bung pre installed cuz i just bought a meth kit. Whats so great about the ER??? Why is everyone recommending them over cpe?

There's not much of a difference between a lot of the chargepipes. ER retains the mounting bracket but out of the hundreds of CP's we've sold I've never had one blow off.

Both ours and the CP-e's transition from 2.5" to 3" is smoother, the ER's is pretty abrupt. The one benefit of the ER is the ability to add an additional meth bung which it doesn't look like cpe offers.

I chose the cp-e over the ER... I'm really not sure why everyone pushes ER on this forum, but I don't think either performs significantly over the other... it appears to just come down to looks. I preferred the cp-e because I liked the finish, quality, and the smoother taper to 2.5" rather than the crude-appearing step-down of the ER.

The ER does maintain the mounting tab but... I really don't think it's makes much of a difference either. Certainly doesn't hurt, though.

And like you said, the cp-e does come with one meth bung, and I actually really like the placement of the meth bung (on the engine side of the BOV) so you don't get meth vented into your engine bay.

Both CPE and ER are great and both made in the USA (which is a plus for some) We sell both and have both on our site but the ER outsells CPE probably 50:1.

I really like the ER (even if the mounting tab doesnt really mount properly as lot of user mentionned) and have the long version with Tial Q and 1 meth bung (if I get the meth tingle in the future).

Out of curiosity, how long have you been FBO giac stage 2 with just stock CP and DVs?

Have boost leak? Or just doing upgrade as preventative.

I'm debating on going to giac stage 2 and just purchasing vrsf CP and retaining stock DVs in hopes they hold

There are pros and cons to all of them.

Most people preferred the ER because its offered in 3 different finishes and you can have the ability to choose between No bung, 1 or 2 bung and even aquamist bungs so it offers the most options.

I had CP-E first CP and it had a lot to be desired but since then they've made some improvement.

VRSF is another good option, especially at its price point. It only comes in 1 finish and 1 bung so options are limited but if it fits the bill it's a good choice.

Either favor your favorite brand or find the distinct difference that makes that charge pipe one you desire, there is never really a wrong answer except I try to stay away from charge pipes that don't fit using the stock C clip.

I don't think there is any favorable difference in performance in regards to the transition from 2.5 to 3 inch but on paper it does sound better so it is worth noting. The CP's were never really big power adders, in fact I don't think they add any power unless your stock CP/DV is leaking.

The only purpose to upgrade your CP is because the stock is prone to cracking, the stock DV leak, you want to go to a BOV and or you want to add methanol.

Lastly, I prefer a CP that have the meth bungs closest to the Intercooler.

The shop that I am using does not like the ER charge pipe. They prefer cpe, vrsf or AA. I would go AA but their BOV is too loud. At this point i am thinking VRSF charge pipe with tial BOV.

I thought I had finally made up my mind and settled on the aa charge pipe bov combo, however would anyone confirm if and how I would be able to use methanol with this combo or is it not possible?

I do not think it comes with hole for nozzle for Meth Injection.

I'm looking for one good chargepipe too but since I have dual Forge DV, my choice is limited. It is true that the chargepipe reduce the lag? I have 2 turbos K04 and have some lag so I would like to reduce it. Thanks.

Loved the sound of my mates tial bov, not too loud and ricer for a euro but enough to let people know its pushing boost.

Tial is the best sound IMO, but the AA is the best looking set up. I finally found some post that the AA does have one meth bung so I decided to go with it.

thank you all for the help!!!!
