I found my oil filter cap insert is broken away from the cap, will this cuz un-filtered engine oil which could damage VANOS solenoid badly??
Seems I need to do another oil change after I install the new cap....

You're better off doing it ASAP, but if you're within say... 50% of your next oil change, the existing oil filter should clear out the particulates until your next scheduled oil change; after all, that's what they're designed to do.

I found it broken last time when I changed my oil(only one month ago), car is rough idle cuz the oil pressure is not stable any more.
Then I bought a new one and replaced it, rough idle now only happens when engine hot start, I think the broken insert affects oil filter which causing solenoid jammed again. So I decided to do another oil change.

I have a brand new oil filter cap if you are interested. 20$ shipped. I bought it thinking mine was cracked, but it turned out to be the o-ring.

Hi, I am experiencing the same issue, were you ever able to resolve it? The car had no oil filter cap stem but there were no codes/issues. I did the oil change and got a new cap once I realized it was missing, now the car has a rough idle on warm starts only. Driving is fine, still pulls as it should. Idle starts to stumble under 2k rpm.
