Poll: Start/Stop Button - Are you a fan after getting used to it?
Are you now a fan of the start/stop button after owning the car for a few weeks/months? (Please, only owners who have had a chance to live with it for more than 3 weeks)

I like the look, style, idea of the push button start, but it seems that they've taken a one step process and made it into two.
It will be much better with Comfort Access and you can start without inserting key.

I've used it for 2 years in my 745Li, so I'm used to the button. In the 7, the button is right next to the key making it much quicker to start and stop. On the 3, the button is higher up, so there are more steps to starting the car.
The only confusing thing about the button system is trying to get into accessory mode. I know in my head how to get to it, but it's not a second nature type move like in a key system. |

I've only now have gotten used to the accessory mode. It was not second nature before but it is now. I just don't depress the clutch pedal and hit the start button, pretty cool!

I like the start/stop button. It was one of the reason I didn't go for the E60. I'm sure the next model will have it. I also considered the new GS430 because of the start/stop button, but I settled for the E90. Just can't do with Japanese cars for now.

I personally love it. It's one of my favorite touches.
sorry, I've only had my car for 1.5 weeks, so I guess I wasn't following the rules of the poll, but I doubt my opinion will change anytime soon

I've gotten to the point where I can insert the key and turn it on and have my hand on the shifter while the car is just starting up. It's definately faster than a key. And since the key is so large, I keep it separate from my keychain so they don't dangle and scratch my dash. The key fits perfectly in the 5th jean pocket (the small one over the right pocket)

Okay, so I've only had my car for 11 days... so I won't vote on the poll, but I'll offer my opinion. The best use of the button is when I stall, I can start it a lot faster... no flipping of the keys off an on, just slam the clutch back down and press the button real quick --people behind you won't even notice you've stalled and you won't be as embarassed. Hahahahaah.

I haven't received my car yet, but when I test drove the car, the push button start was THE "cool" feature that put it over the top for me. This was on a Saturday, I ordered the car on Monday.

I think the key and remote start are just one of those things thats more impressive and show offish rather than something that increases efficiency Like it was said above a "cool feature" that makes the car a lil better Just like auto-fold up mirrors which I never use but always impresses my friends whenever i show them I sometimes miss turning the key and starting the car up the old fashion way but the remote start is cool to |

I have comfort access...so I find the start/stop button a pleasure! Even when I don't feel "comfort accessy" - ie i decide to be normal and use the key...it find it easy. Plop it in the hole, push the button...while the car starts i do my seatbelt and get it into gear. I prefer it alot to having to hold the key there until it takes!!!
