Stock Dyno
Hey guys,
Finally got my car dynoed, this is a baseline run with only a drop in filter. Between this week & next I will have my Meth, DP, CDV Delete, Kw Coils, CP & some sort of custom exhaust on for another dyno session. In the mean time here are the stock results. I must say this car blowssss beyond 5K stock, falls on its face so hard. This pull was done in 3rd gear just so everyone knows. When we did the pulls in 4th gear the graph was all over the place with huge tq drop n dips etc etc. Graph was very ugly. My buddy says he believes it was like that due to the speed in which the car thought it was traveling & it was compensating underload to not harm the cats. All and all tho I am fairly impressed with the power it made & cannot wait to do an over lay of my old graph & the new graph when I go back for another session on the rollers. |

Oh ya no dont get me wrong I'm very impressed but I'm also coming from a 500whp evo which didnt fall on its face @ all. Im very impressed with the tq curve tho, very very linear for a stock tune, I'm super excited to see how it responds to the mods.

Don't expect anything close here lol. It'll be very cheap and easy to make 350 WHP here but past that you will run into a lot of trouble. Enjoy the mounds of TQ, the I6 offers as well as the daily driveability of the 3.

Hey don't be worried bout the numbers it's only a tool. Also I do believe there dyno dynamics is calibrated to read the same as the dynojet since it is the industry standard.

Mounds of trouble? I mean all I ever had was trouble with the evo haha. I have all the performance mods except a FMIC & Exhaust which ill be custom fabricating. Meth is on its way so I hope to see between 370-380 whp & 425ish so of tq, I hope. Well see.

You missed my point, when I said trouble; I meant it will be hard to make power above that 360-370 WHP level unless you do a turbo upgrade. As it just so happens no one makes one... so good luck. You will definitely enjoy the daily drive ability capabilities of this vehicle as compared to your EVO.

yep, just enjoy the 370 whp or so until a turbo upgrade comes out sometime in the future. I don't think it is anytime soon.

Ya thats my plan, I highly doubt one will be out soon. Definately not a priority to any of the tuners out there yet. Have the thresholds of this motor been tested yet?

Shiv had mentioned that it has the potential to be a force in the tuned field with a turbo and fuel upgrade. internals are just my main concern when you start upgrading the turbo... but VAC in Philadelphia already said they are ready to produce forged internals whenever we are ready.

evo what tune are u gonna with.
u know 370whp for our N55 is possible, but also consider all the dyno's with those numbers have been DCT. 6AT and 6MT have been clock'n at 340-350whp (310-320whp more realistic) from a dynojet. now that u got ur base, you'll be able to see ur power gains between the curve. I suggest look into tune first.

Ive done my research and feel like I chose a pretty good mod path. The reason I dynoed the car stock is exactly the reason you said. The most important thing to me is the gains in my curve not the over all numbers. Ya its nice to see good numbers but how the car feels and drives is what really matters. Drivability etc etc. Last edited by Evooooo; 10-19-2011 at 10:45 PM.. Reason: spelling |
