Exhaust system closest to sti

I currently Have a full Borla Exhaust system.

I was wondering what is the closest exhaust system on a 335i that will give the STI sound, Im pretty sure its impossible to get the rumble due to the fact the sti's have uneven headers, but i was wondering if you guys have a way to make it rumble like to sti or sound like it

You can't really get that sound with a straight 6. It'll be all rasp when you get on the gas. It's like asking how can I get a v8 sound for my 6 cylinder just won't happen. I mean I guess you can try a cat delete but that's the closest it'll ever get probably.

STI's have flat 4 cylinder engines which help create that unique sound. Also 4 cylinder engines fire at 180 degree intervals, vs 120 degree intervals for an I-6. So getting that flat four sound is nearly impossible with an inline 6.

I know that, its due to the fact that they have a 4 cyl boxer engine, as to us with a straight inline 6, but is there a way where i can maybe swap out my headers with uneven headers to get the rumble?

You want a vroombox. Google it.

Or sure, swap headers and make it sound like a boxer 4.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. Used car manager, check out his build thread, all the pics are of cars with his dealer logo, wtf, and taken with a potato. Also, plastidipped the trim without even covering the glass. I mean I know the stuff comes off easy, but jesus, not even bothering to tape that off? I'm pretty sure the taillamp "tint" is actually a light coat of plastidip also.

I get the feeling this is just the ride of the month for the OP. He probably isn't even titling it in his name.

Just get a sound card and find some space under the hood for a big speaker.

Not that the N54 has a glorious chorus but you actually like the sound of those flat 4's?

I thought it was something those guys just had to deal with, didn't realize it was prized.

Unequal length headers rob HP. Not worth going through all that trouble just to achieve the rumble in the Bronx sound.

When my ignition coil failed, it sounded like Subaru.

LOL, I'm more surprised someone actually desires that terrible sound from Subaru's boxer-4. It's trash, but I suppose you could bolt an Evinrude outboard boat motor to the decklid.

Yeah agreed... I want to punch the motherfucker in the throat whenever they drive past me with one of those around here.
I was thinking for years what that stupid rumbling sound reminds me of - now I know thank you - an outboard motor boat that I used to crab on with my father.
The goddamn car sounds like it's falling apart with that stupid ass exhaust... Sorry I truly hate it- one of the most hated sounds that I know in my memory- and one of the few sounds in my memory bank that will trigger a homicidal rage in my brain.

You should hear my VRSF exhaust I just installed. I have an exhaust leak because the "bomb proof gaskets" I bought like 2 months ago were literally demolished. While I'm waiting on new gaskets. My car sounds almost like my buddies sti.
