Thanks!!!
TL;DR
JK I'm the other guy in this epic journey. Thanks for the kind words, and for anybody on the fence about doing ED this should really make the decision easy :-D. Camera for most of the pics was the D7000 that i just got for the trip and sadly wasn't as comfortable with as i would have liked to be. (lenses 35mm 1.8, 10.5mm 2.8 fisheye, and 55-200mm 3.5-5.6) |

This is a great post - thanks for sharing. Reminds me of my euro trips going wherever the wind took me (by rail, less the BMW!).
So they key question - how did it go with the ladies

Thank you guys SO much for the kind words. Besides the D7000 and the lenses shadow2132 mentioned the other two cameras used were a sony cybershot and an exilim. But doing this trip without the D7000 would be pointless. For all the greatest the D7000 has to offer it still falls short in expressing what we actually saw.. but it comes close. We do have one regret however and that is that we didnt purchase the Go Pro camera before we left. I STRONGLY suggest a Go Pro to anyone doing an ED.

Tried to be as safe as possible but basically yes lol. European roads and drivers inspire a lot of confidence. With the added benefit of not getting points on my license i didnt see any good reason not to.

Dave, when you got busted. Did the cops have a TV crew with them? I got busted in my rented Camry going from Krakow to Katowice doing about 110mph by an undercover Passat, and they had a TV crew with them filming a show called "Uwaga Pirat" a Polish version of super speeders. It was a fun experience....

Good stuff. Roads over there are amazing (hways and twisties in Alps). Unfortunately I never got to drive in Europe. USA ruins alot of driving fun with ridiculously crappy and unsafe road surface.
Going to Zurich myself on Feb 26th....cant wait....I love Alps. |
