I've got a "RATTLE" in my dash...! ( NOW FIXED! )

I've got a rattle in my dash, and if I press the area i've highlighted it stops...

Has anyone any ideas how to remove this etc, as I don't want to return it to my BUTCHER's at my local dealer..!

Your car seems to be quite new as it has the latest climate control cluster. Rattles already

ITs outrageous that you should get a rattle like this, I agree with wafik, the dealer should definitely sort it for you; you shouldn't have to do it yourself.

It's your choice, most rattles come and go naturally, wait a few days and it may go.

....or have some trainee ex kwik fit yoof pulling your dash apart (or spraying silicon lube in there, the usual lazy trick)

It's the most hated job in dealership, fixing rattles, they see the complaining customer as an arse and put the monkeys on it always.

Try pressing the whole dash in that area to help settle it, or put the heaters on full high temp for a while to see if that alters it.

Mine has rattles on cold days that go after 30 mins,

Great! Mine is going into the dealers tomorrow to have various rattles sorted. (or not)

Plastic trim over sliding mechanism at the side of the drivers seat is loose and rattles.
Area around speedo/steering column buzzes on rough motorway surfaces.
"A" pillar still creaks even after 10 visits and new spot welds to body work.

YYYYYEEEEEEHHHHH.... It is now 100% rattle free...

I found this post on Google ( It's you friend )....

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268600

I followed how to remove the dash bits one by one, and it took 2 mins tops...

I could see once I removed the the heater controls that it was bone dry where it pressed into it cage type holder...

So I sprayed a bit of silicone lubricant spray, around all the bits where plastic meets plastic, and " Bob's your uncle " 100% rattle free...

The job took 6 mins top, and was VERY easy to do...

It saved me a 60 mile round trip to my Dealer, to be told they need a part and to come back in 5 days....

Took the car for a long drive, and theres not a sound....

" Thank GOD for that".....
