SBR is the sound just for the gong. If your not wearing your seatbelt when you get into a car crash, regardless you are going to either seriously injure or kill yourself.

SBR is just short form for the sound gong, once you wear your seatbelt the dash indication is what keeps track if your wearing your seatbelt or not.

Don't quote me though.

SBR stands for seatbelt. The actual seatbelt warning will say this

GURTWARNUNG_GONG

if you put that into google translator, the first part translate into seat belt reminders and second part is...well gong.

ps. what I was saying was that even if you were wearing your seatbelt but disabled that code, the airbag may still not launch.

Interesting...

Well I didn't disable it, I wear my seatbelt every single time I'm in the car.

I really don't see the benefit of the auto sunroof close upon rain if the rain sensing wiper switch has to be ON

Who drives around all day, every day with the rain sensing switch ON expecting rain? And if the switch is OFF while driving, it starts to rain & the roof is open - it takes 2 sec to hit the switch & close it.

And every time you shut the car off the rain sensing switch resets to OFF.

What would be the cats a$$ is if you could get the sunroof to close upon rain without the car ON or the rain sensing switch ON. That way if you leave the roof open during the day, and any time it starts to rain the roof would close instead of having to run out and close it manually.

For that to work the rain sensor would need to be connected to Battery Power instead of Ignition, and the wiper switch bypassed, which I don't see happening. So I guess the Auto Close with the fob will have to suffice for me...

Fixed it by lowering the latency to 1, default is 16, finally got to code the sidemarkers, folding mirrors, seat belt gong and digital display

So from the posted DIY PDF this means that we should set the receive/transmit buffers to (1) instead of (8) that is suggested when setting the com1 Port Settings?

This was originally my goal since I left my sunroof open once and it poured like hell but instead I found the other result.

I don't see how It can work since it seems everything is shutdown when car is off, even if we could find a way to leave the rain sensor on.. there would still be no power to the sunroof? If we can get it to work, it would be very cool

Please do not disable your seat belt chime, i know it's annoying as hell but we do not know the effect on airbags. Better to live your life with annoyance than to not live it at all.

I successfully used 8 but I did into that error once out of the 40+ times I had to code the car. Like the previous member was explaining it's better to empty the bucket sooner, so if 1 works. lets go with 1

I am just wondering, and I agree an annoying noise is not worth your life but if your only disabling the "GONG" then why would it have an effect if the airbag deploys. The warning message should still appear on the iDrive and somoeone in the MINI forums disabled his and it still shows on the screen the seatbelt is not in.

Also can you explain more on this

"you will have to reset the sunroof with INPA after you code this option"

Has anyone done the DVD in motion for the CIC or have the value for that?

I have ordered my cable and awaiting. Once I begin to work on this, I will offer help to anyone as such as other successful members have.

I'm getting the same error with some of my modules as well.

I'm currently using NCS 3.1.0 from xxxjecxxx's earlier post. Do you have any newer daten files?

Already posted this info on newer version 2 pages back - these downloads are quite a bit more recent & almost up to date...

NCS Data - 1/14/10
EDIABAS - v.6.4.7

EDIABAS is currently at v7.2.0
NCS Data updates frequently

These downloads contain versions quite higher than the v3.1. I have heard mentioned - which doesn't mean that 3.1 won't work for your particular car - depends of the year of the car.

For obvious reasons, it is best to use the latest version of the software available (especially the daten files). However, these versions will prolly work for most things (especially the 'aktiv' & 'nicht-aktiv' items) but may not for items that require actual V.O. upgrade

And yes, use E89 for the E90 chassis designations...

Another item of interest to note is that any 'coding' of seperate items might, or might not, be overwritten/set back to default values during a dealer software upgrade depending on which modules are updated during the process - meaning you will have to go back in and re-code those items. So it would be a good idea to write down how you got to the items you coded for your particular car for reference in the future & don't get rid of your cable after you have coded everything the first time thinking you will never need it again!

Any changes to the V.O. will be permanent and unchanged by dealer software upgrades

After making the changes make sure you save and close the FSW_PSW.MAN file before coding....

or maybe is because your version on Windows 7 is not genuine..

make sure your receive buffer and transmit buffers are set to 8, if that does not work other members have suggested changing them to 1. I was not able to code every module.

It may be due to the fact you are using v.3.1 - do an install of the newer versions I posted that came from another member & see if all modules are able to be coded

There has to be a way to remove speed limit via coding. If anyone has any bright ideas. please let me know.

Doubt it, I would think the limit is somewhere in the engine's ECU, which isn't what's being modified here or you'd essentially be able to tune the car. With that said, who cares? You can hit 155, that's more than enough.
