I think theres something SERIOUSLY wrong with my car....

Not actually my car - but a friend snapped this outside his apartment today. Anyone know how this could have happened?

Oil cap wasn't firmly seated or was never put back on is a possibility.

I did that once and oil got all over the manifold of my 84 Plymouth Reliant. Only way I found out was by looking in the rear view mirror and noticing a massive amount of smoke behind me. I pulled over, popped the hood, used my jacket to open it, and discovered a roaring oil fire -the flames leapt about 6' into the air. I managed to put it out with a fire extinguisher I borrowed from a farmhouse nearby.
After pouring in two quarts of oil I had in the back of the car, and retensioning the carburetor spring, I continued on. That car lasted me another two years before blow-by finally killed it.

Judging by the wheels, I'd assume a 328?

LOL at the group of people standing at the bus stop just watching it burn...

My Eclipse GSX almost caught on fire while I was driving it once. The alternator relay blew with enough enthusiasm to start a small electrical fire. By the time I was able to put it out it was inches away from the battery. That would have sucked.
