Sadly, the guys at Dinan told me a while back that there won't be an N55 CAI, primarily because their R&D testing showed no significant change in power vs stock. And just recently, they put their E92 N55 R&D vehicle up for sale on EBay which means their work on the N55 (for the non X-drive E9x) is pretty much done.

You should try Map 5 with 3 WOT runs in 3rd gear 3000/redline to setup the Map.

Map 1 is a very limited fixed boost map. Map 5 will self adjust to produce the best the car can run with the equipment & fuel available.

If you do set up Map5 then go to another Map it will lose its settings & have to be reset.

4 years is nothing man, I've had mine for over 6 years and I STILL love it just like I did on day 1. I plan on keeping it for as long as I can afford it, hopefully forever

In the comparison of the two you showed OP. You came out ahead. The Dinan system is not all show but rather much better then the other setup. The AFI DCI will have lots of heat soak. I would just save my money and stick to stock air box that came with car or find a pure Cold air intake like Dinan.

Some people have tested these on DYNO and only thing that is better then the stock is a proper cold air intake setup like the Dinan one. There are other companies that also make them.

To OP, I myself know a BMW master tech who takes care of my car. I wonder if it is the same guy. Anyways enjoy your E92 335i.......I love mine even though I have had it for 4 years now.

Any dual cone intake is a way for your car to lose low-end torque. Install a DCI and watch your low-end vanish because of the high IATs in city traffic. I had the Injen intake which was very nice to look at, looks a lot better than the AFE. But the car was even more sluggish than with the stock intake in city traffic so I built myself a "Mr. 5" intake which is a sort of Dinan intake. Much better !

Keep your Dinan intake...it's the best intake you could have.

No it does not have a float, yet to see that on an intake.
It does have a water shield to keep direct water ingestion to a minimum. I ran one for 3 years and never had an issue. By far the best intake on the market for this engine.

Air takes the least resistant path, so if the bumper filter is immersed in water the intake will just suck air from the OEM filter and engine will not be harmed. And if it's just wet and not immersed in water a few (filtered) drops of water will not do anything to the engine.

However if you are still paranoid about it you can check out my intake:

This has the supplemental filter in the engine bay (in a closed box) so it is very unlikely for the filter to even be touched by water (given the least resistance path I mentioned above).

Yes you will map 1 is like a little over 400hp so with a intake and a little less restriction from the muffler im guessing 415hp
