Ebay didn't like my listing!

I had posted a couple of front tyres from some wheels I bought and because I had put the words 'I do not prefer paypal' Ebay have cancelled my listing with the following details....

Dear steve748b(steve748@hotmail.co.uk),

We appreciate that you chose eBay to list your listing(s). However, we have removed your listing because it breached our Accepted Payments policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

150327040694 - Michelin Pilot Sport 2 RunFlat tyre 225 40 ZR18 88Y 7mm
150327046566 - Michelin Pilot Sport 2 RunFlat tyre 225 40 ZR18 88Y 7mm

Why did we remove your listing?

Your listing(s) contains the following information:

I DO NOT prefer paypal.

Sellers must always accept payment from buyers through the payment methods they have selected in their Payment Details section of their listing, including PayPal. They must not act in any way to discourage buyers from paying by one of the methods that they offer.

For more information on the eBay policy, copy this link into a new browser window:

Why didn't you simply exclude paypal as a payment method actually on the listing (and then not need to state it)?

You cannot exclude paypal as it is automatically put on your listing with the words 'this seller prefers paypal'

I would state that if Paypal is used, then the buyer must cover all Paypal fees.

Put it in bold at the top so people don't miss it.

If you put that the buyer pays the costs they will pull that as well.

I have listed them in the classifieds now and I am quite happy to wait as long as it takes as I only need the space!

It's also against ebay rules to recharge the paypal fee to the buyer.

They are getting too big for their boots and should remember there wouldn't be an ebay without sellers. I've had two listings pulled recently due to their anal rules.

It'll be their loss as I will not sell anything through Ebay if I can help it, I'll look for alternative places first.

Didn't know that! I will have to take a look!

You could, for example, increase the postage costs if the buyer "chooses" not to pay via non cash options...

Aaaaahhh they have thought of that too because if your postage is deemed unreasonable the buyers can give you 1 star in your feedback and low stars mean they list your item at the back of the search list.

Now when you put an item in the search box, it comes up with best match, when in reality it means the highest starred sellers who make lots of money for fleabay are first in the list

ebay own paypal and are both money grabbers.
i bought a nokia n96 and it didnt arrive but paypal said i would get my money back straight away if i didnt recieve the goods and leave a negative feedback for the seller.
i still had to go through the dispute and wait 3 weeks for money back as it makes them interest in their bank while a dispute is running.
i have had listings removed for saying item is for sale elsewhere as they do not like that neither.

People like me are going to get more and more pissed off with ebay because they have increased their charges to small sellers, encourage sellers to list Buy it now instead of auction and then take another slice by encouraging buyers to pay with paypal.

What a lot of sellers don't know is if ebay have a problem with you about a listing violation they can suspend your account and also if you have any money in paypal you won't be able to withdraw it as that will be frozen too.

Any new sellers have to open a paypal account because they have to accept that form of payment. They promote any other form of payment as unsafe.
