My new steering wheel!

Finally, after about a year, I drove down the road - 1.5 miles to be exact - to TCS Auto Engineer's in High Wycombe and they kindly fitted my sportier, thicker steering wheel.

I think it has made a major improvement as it just feels right!

I've a new gear knob on order at Sytner - a shorter version - that I believe will enhance the sporty feel to my driving.

It's just the wheel rim that's new, not the gubbins in the centre, that's the original SE parts and airbag. The wheel itself is the E92 M3 wheel, I think.

How did you fit just the rim?

I didn't explain it properly...it is a new wheel - the M3 version - but all the centre bits and airbag etc are the existing SE parts so I only replaced the bare bones wheel, if you like - see attached pic.

I didn't want the centre bit with the M logo as I don't have any M logo's anywhere else but I do like the M stitching.

I can't remember exactly as it was so long ago that I actually purchased it - about £125 - £150 on eBay, I think. I got a really good deal as the chap - in Poland, judging by the postal origin - sent me two for some reason! I have a spare all wrapped up in the garage - the one in the photo above - that I may put into my wife's car or simply keep in case mine scuffs or something.
