Hey guys,

did my searches by couldn't find an answer here.
I have a 2006 330xi non-sport. ( Non-sport steering wheel)
I would like to replace the steering wheel with the sport steering wheel.
I was wondering would I need to get a new airbag as well as I would be moving to sport steering and the enclosure of the airbag looks different or could i use the same airbag.

-steering wheel trim
-steering wheel (sports)
-multifunction buttons for sports steering wheel

I'm hoping to do the same thing. The dealership here quoted me $1400 for the airbag. There has got to be a better way to acquire this than at the "lets make money off the insurance company" rate. Sadly I'm going to make the assumption that most wreckers are not going to have any intact airbags on written off 3 series.

ebay has some great rates..average around 400-500

You can shop around for deals making it much cheaper. You can probably get it all for 500-700 but looking here in the classified.

I actually have a spare sports steering wheel with trim, airbag bracket, steering wheel and multifunction button. PM me if you are interested.

But it won't be as cheap as opting for the sports package when building your car :-)
