I think that's absurdly cheap at the moment - even used, I'd expect them to go for much, much more than that. Shame there's no buy it now on the £125 price!

There was a buy it now of £1500 when it was first put up but a starting price of 99p so as soon as someone bid the BIN is no longer available.

This kit may also be of interest: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=110714924374

Well, if I was the seller there's no way I would have such a low starting bid. I'd expect to see a reserve?
These might be a bargain, but how often do we hear "if it looks too good to be true, its dodgy".......not saying it IS dodgy - just seems slightly odd.
I'd also prefer an actual photo, not a library one.

The Rotoras that EddyH points out start at £1000 for example.

Mike.

The Rotoras were originally starting at £1200 but have been revised, they do however include rears too. I think both kits are only a minor upgrade over standard disc size though and most people go for a 380mm kit rather than 355 which I believe are intended for cars lower in the range.

I agree with Mike that the Brembo auction is a little suspicious and I too would prefer real photos. The shipping cost is also very expensive.

Gents don't forget the obvious.

With many rear conversions you lose your handbrake as they dont have the drum assembly!

Yes if you have AT you can get by with the P function, but you will fail an MOT when it's due, and with MT its a royal PITA.

Defiantly would rather save my pennys for the full AP racing kit from Birds.
Brakes are not something to save money on

Certainly worth checking this before buying. Is the handbrake assembly an integral part of the OEM rear disc? Perhaps this is why Birds offer the AP Racing rear 4 pistons but using the the OEM disc?

Anyway, there's no way I'd buy used brakes off Ebay, you just can't take the chance, in my opinion.

Better start saving for the Birds AP Racing components I guess, although if I'm honest it seems a bit OTT for road use. Maybe Xmas prezzy to myself?

Mike.

I wonder if he's (seller) been reading this forum.

The original listing has gone and the item has been relisted as a 'Buy it now' at £1750.00.

I wonder if there's a gap in the market here? There seems to be nothing between OEM and a £4000+ AP/Alcon/StopTech/Brembo set up, in the UK anyhow.

I know the OEM stoppers are good enough for road use, but man, they're ugly! Yes you can get better fluid, braided hoses and better pads, but the OEM calipers are not, how you say, "sick".

I suppose the market for 335x BBK's is very small......but it would be nice if there was something that improved on OEM performance a bit, looked cool, and didn't cost a fortune.

Unless someone knows different?

Mike.

Needless to say +1

Defo a gap but in all honesty I very rarely need more braking performance.
Would like a flashy calliper with some vented disks and better pads though
Eh
Even if only for the once or twice I do get on a track
