started the engine today and heard some ticking. Not sure what it is but called Ivo about it and I'm going to bring it in tomorrow.

Did a little research and seems like a lot of people has had the problem. Anyone suggests fixing it or should I just leave it? I'm not sure how much replacing the head cost but seems like a major repair if that's the only fix.

Just leave it if you are out warranty. It goes away when the engine warm up anyway.

OK I think I'll just live with it. I did some more research and it seems normal and does no harm to the engine so I'm just going to leave it.

Another thing. I had schedule an appointment with Ivo about the ticking noise so I'm just going to get him to take a look at the engine and the suspension. There's a noise I've been curious about around the rear driver side wheel area that's been bothering me. Sounds like a squeaking noise when I push on the wheel or around that side. Any ideas what it could be?

looks like it's going to be an expensive repair if I do indeed need to replace it. How much did that run you? The part alone is $370 for the M3 version guide rod kit

If the part is not that bad, "Still derivable" you should get the parts from the US it is cheaper, if it can't wait get a quote on the parts from Mike at Maranello BMW he gives discounts to Maxbimmer members.

I'm probably going to get it from the US. Sad thing is I just made a trip to Buffalo last week to pick up car parts, detailing, and some shopping so I'm probably not going down there unless I need to and I'll probably order some more stuff to make it worth it.

LOL I have to go down there as well and pick up some part.

Your better off getting the parts from the US even when you pay taxes you save big time!

I bought everything off ECS tuning. I did the full rear conversion minus the camber arms. If you are going there, can you grab some stuff for me too? I'll put it in your name and toss you some extra $$?

Just came back from Ivo and he check the car out. Like you said it's the guide rods and wishbones. Doesn't seem like a big deal and anything urgent and he said I can drive with it still. Just have to live with the squeaky noise until I replace them.

He also plugged in his code reader to see if there was any codes. A weird code popped up. Some valve throttle code. He said that could be the reason why my car suddenly shutdown on my twice when I was in reverse. Couldn't pin point the problem but explain that it's something with the intake and exhaust valves opening and closing. Could also because of the oil I use. He recommends LL04. I mistakenly told him I used 0W40 Castrol and he said that oil is too thin and I should use at least a 5W30 oil.

triggz - Seems like I won't be heading to Buffalo after all. Sorry. I'll let you know when I'm heading there again though.

When I got home I installed my angel eye 7000k bulbs I bought from BMWLED.net. Took me longer than expected. It took almost 3 hours for me but they look great.

Sounds good. I'm in no rush either. I wanted to grab m3 subframe and m3 diff bushings. Wasn't going to install them until I get my wavetrac.

Just went to Columbus Auto today for an oil change (brought my own oil). Fast friendly service and great pricing. Will be bringing the car here again in the future.

Based on the great feedback here, I called up Ivo for an oil change and replacing my angel eyes...called a few days earlier, which prepared him to get the replacement bulbs on the morning of my appointment....by the time I came back from breakfast, he finished both jobs, ready to go! Straight forward, hard working dude!
Looks like I found a trusted tech for the precious ride!

And what's wrong with picking up the phone and finding out for yourself?

I as a customer would prefer the direct route.

Lmfao wow pure drama...just give the man his answer no biggy that's what the forums are for - to help one another out, regardless of how lazy

Btw, Ivo charged $300 when he ran a type of GB. On a normal day, he may charge a bit more....$400+ because it's a full day job.

To be absolutely certain and when you're rdy - I'm sure he'll take care of you regardless
